This property has a natural water supply from a spring. Couples, family bookings and holiday makers only.. Fancy something a little different? Relax and unwind in this beautiful completely off-grid cottage, where there is no mains electricity, lights work off the solar panels. ‘’Winter guest please note, lack of sun may mean that the solar panel battery doesn’t get charged. We supply lamps if this becomes an issue). The thick stone walls are cool in summer and cosy in winter. For winter guests, the kitchen is lovely and warm as the Rayburn provides heat and hot water. The wood burner in the living room, a radiator in the bathroom and heavy winter duvets in the bedrooms (no heaters) provide enough heat to keep you cosy! This characterful beamed cottage, with slightly wonky floors, is full of quirky little features and character, as you would expect from an old cottage. It has been tastefully decorated and you can relax in the living room while taking in the spectacular views and cosy up in front of the wood burner in winter.
This is a remote setting with stunning views and no neighbours - apart from the woolly, four-legged kind! Go on adventures for miles (you have access to 400 acres of the owners’ land), or simply sit and relax and take in the breathtaking views.
Heating, hot water and cooking is via the oil Rayburn, whilst the fridge runs off of the solar panel, (see above) and the hob runs on gas. There is no TV, no Wi-Fi, and no distractions (there is 4G reception outside). If you fancy a complete break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life this is the property for you. If you can’t live without your gadgets, we suggest you bring fully charged power banks.
Set in a remote, detached location this property benefits from a private wood-fired hot tub, (£30 for initial set up, bags of extra logs £10) from where you can also take in the surrounding views. The area is perfect for walkers with many footpaths starting from the front door. Only a short drive away is the town of Newtown, set on the banks of the River Severn, with a good selection of pubs, restaurants and shops. The coast at Aberdyfi is within easy reach, along with the beautiful mountain scenery of southern Snowdonia. After a busy day exploring, guests can enjoy the patio to the front of the property or chill in the wood-fired hot tub to the side of the property.

Excellent location with beautiful scenery. Very good to get away from madness of life. Kids loved it and can let them play out on the lane with no worries.

Blaen Y Cwm is unique and rather special.
Blaen Y Cwm is unique and rather special. High up on a Welsh hillside you are cut off from the world in perfect solitude. It's a complete nature detox and a great get away from it all. For us, that was exactly what we were looking for.The eco hot tub works really well, and held its heat well throughout our long weekend stay. We were provided with plenty of wood for the whole weekend for any heat top ups. The hosts were exceptional and Nia ensured the hot tub was ready on arrival. Perfect after a six hour drive. She was on hand for any questions or queries.Being off grid, it's worth mentioning, all electricity is 12v and there are no standard plug sockets. Charging phones etc is via a USB socket. It comes highly recommended and we'll certainly be letting friends know. Unsurprisingly, we'll definitely be returning.
