Lovely stay in the vines
We had a relaxing week in the gite. We explored during the day and enjoyed coming back and having swim and sharing a meal together at home in the gite. Limoux is a good spot if you prefer to eat out and has good supermarkets. The hosts were great .

A relaxed week in France
A lovely house in a beautiful location. A great base for exploring the region or just relaxing by the pool. Superb roads for cycling if that’s your thing.

My love of France begin when I was 18 and spent three months in Paris. Family holidays were spent travelling the 'route to the south' practising my french en route! Later years found me in the Middle East and USA before settling in the Peak District in England. I guess you could say I was born with sand in my shoes. Here i worked in tourism development and regeneration before completing a degree in Art History. While still working in tourism I opened two holiday cottages using my knowledge of the industry an art background to create spaces that reflected a fusion of new and old in luxury surroundings. When I sold the properties in 2020 we had well over 350 5 star reviews. I can only assume the winds of change once again were blowing through my life and with the family began looking for a new venture. For me, believing it's never too late for a 'gap-year,' took myself to Carcassonne for twelve months.

Why they chose this property

It had been a long, hot week. Leila, my daughter, and I had travelled across the whole Occitanie region, from Montpellier in the north to Perpignan in the south, west to Toulouse and back to Carcassonne. So far only one vineyard was just okay, but not right. The last few days were approaching when Andy, back home in UK looking after holiday cottages and animals, asked us to just go and look at Nougayrol. We arrived, the sun was beginning
