About this property

Beautiful cottage for two in the most vibrant part of Somerset.

Coco's Barn is set in the rolling Somerset countryside, deep in the Mendip Hills, yet within 20 mins drive to the historic city of Bath. Great for visiting local attractions, or an active break - walking or cycling. This part of Somerset has so much going on, fgreat pubs and restaruants, historic houses and independent shopping streets.

Located in the Mendip hills 8 mins from Babington House (Soho House group), 20 mins from historic Bath, the fabulous The Newt restaurant in Somerset and an easy drive to to Frome, Bruton Nunney, Longleat, Wells and Cheddar Gorge. Vobster Quay and its watersports activities is close by.

The East Mendip Way is on our doorstep and provides a huge variety of footpaths to explore this beautiful, undulating countryside. We are within an easy walk of the renowned Holcombe farm shop (great for breakfast) and two restaurants/pubs. Vobster Quay and its watersports activities is close by.

Our traditional stone cottage, built in 1784, was originally the farm's hayloft. Now it combines the traditional cosiness of a thick-walled stone cottage with all the requirements of modern home living, including fibre-to-home fast WiFi. Perfect for autumn/winter stay-cationing, a working from home change of scene, or visiting the beautiful West Country.

Our main open-plan living space has wooden floors, antique furniture, and a reclaimed wood country kitchen, with polished wood work surfaces and all the appliances that you would expect from a home of this quality, including a hob, fan oven, dishwasher, nespresso coffee maker and microwave and washing machine. Our walls are decorated with some of our original art collection.

French doors open out onto the private patio and herb garden, with comfy furniture, BBQ, outside eating space, sun umbrella and fire pit with festoon lighting surrounding the well stocked garden.

Upstairs our design-led interiors continue in the eaves bedroom with king size bed, luxury white bed linen and stunning countryside views. Our ensuite shower room is stocked with beautiful Faith in Nature products and fluffy white towels.

Outside there is a dedicated parking space.

Perfect stay
We had three glorious long weekends at Coco’s Barn. It’s a lovely space looking onto a gorgeous patio. The barn has a very comfy bed and sofa, lush linens and towels and everything you could need in the kitchen. Geri and Kevin were perfect hosts too. Would highly recommend stayed here!

We are a much travelled couple, enjoying the rural life with all of its activities. We love hiking, music, and sightseeing in Bath, which is close by. We love growing fruit and vegetables in our garden and walking our two very friendly labradors. Geri was an interior designer who changed her career to sustainability, but still loves decorating homes, and she has poured her love into this stunning cottage.

Why they chose this property

Coco's Barn is located in the grounds of Kilmersdon Common Farm House. The property dates back to the 1780's and is built of local stone. Waking up to birdsong, breathing in the fresh air and walking in our wonderful hills, or buying our specialist local water from the artisan business are all local daily activities. Coco's has been newly refurbished in 2022 and hosts a mixture of comfy sofa's and Asian antiques and art, from our many years living in Asia

What makes this property unique

Fantastic location. Ideal for rural living and city sightseeing and shopping. Come home to a comfy sofa, fully equipped kitchen, and gorgeous bed, with crisp white linen. Black out blinds enhance your sleep and relaxation.
