Uncomfortable but great neighborhood and views

This property has been obviously set up for rentals w/o anybody trying to live there. For example, the light in the bathroom is super bright and motion activated -- imagine going there at night... and the sensor doesn't "see" the shower, so the light goes off just as you've shampooed your head. The kitchen isn't equipped for cooking (no functional knives, only one pan and a huge one at that, some drawers cannot open because they run into handles of others, no dish soap provided and exactly one kitchen towel). Also, there seems to be no ongoing maintenance: the mirror in the bathroom is gone (there are remnants of the fixture), the telescope is broken, one of the beds was "adjusted" to have uneven leg heights -- we couldn't fix it w/o tools. The fridge is tiny and the freezer shelf is overgrown with ice. The "dryer" for laundry is probably the heated towel rack in the bathroom, yes, you can dry your bath-suit on it but that's about it. There is no washer. The instructions for finding the place are technically accurate but the driveway is not distinguishable from others and hard to recognize from the road. As we were driving around looking for it, some frustrated local said that it's "always those people looking for Puffins Nest!" so I'm sure we weren't the first ones to get lost. A bigger sign would help. Having said that, the view from the living room is great and both the beach and the town is a short walk away with all the vacation pleasures you might expect there.
