This is a friendly condo in pretty Santa Cruz. An attractive pool and deck area provides the focal point. Our apartment is up one flight of steps in a quieter corner of the complex.

We have one large king-size bedroom with air-con, a second smaller queen bedroom - with a ceiling fan - with two bathrooms and all the usual amenities.

We have upgraded it to create a modern Mexican feel: traditional arts complement a contemporary atmosphere. We're always exchanging different paintings, photos or hangings on the wall.

We also have a newish kitchen: it's not bigger but it is far more functional and the granite working surfaces give it a hint of luxury.

Leading out of the double patio doors, you'll find yourself on the terrace. It is small and secluded. Okay so you don't have beach, mountain or pool views but we have been told over and over again by our renters and friends, that its position in the complex is enviable for the tranquillity and shade. We cultivate our plants to give it a bit of a garden feel!
