A lovingly converted barn, developed to the highest standard, providing luxury non smoking accommodation for up to two adults with the benefit of a private hot tub and stunning views over the Manifold Valley.. Ground Floor:
Bedroom: Double (4ft 6in) Bed Ensuite: Cubicle Shower, Toilet
First Floor:
Living room/kitchen: Smart TV, Electric Fire, Breakfast Bar, Electric Oven, Electric Hob, Microwave, Fridge, Dishwasher, Coffee Machine. Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Welcome pack. Rear garden with patio, summerhouse, gas BBQ and garden furniture. Hot tub for 2 (private). Bike store. Private parking for 1 car. Strictly no smoking including e-cigarettes. Please note: There are 9 steps in the garden. No children under 18 years old.. This beautiful stone barn conversion boasts the ‘wow’ factor with an elegant finish incorporating traditional and modern features. As you come up the driveway you are greeted by breath-taking views surrounding Piggledy Cross Barn and there is a gravel parking bay located at the foot of the steps to the entrance.
Make your way up the 7 stone steps and take a moment to enjoy the view and stunning scenery of the picturesque Peak District before entering into the first floor kitchen and living space. You will be met by a bright and contemporary interior which includes a beautiful oak floor and a modern kitchen that has all the appliances that you may need for your stay. There is a welcome pack waiting for you to say thank you for choosing our lovely little barn. The living area is served by a wall hung Frame Smart TV which sits above an electric remote controlled Aga Rayburn fire which not only gives great ambience but is a wonderfully warm and special focal point. The living area also boasts two large, comfortable Italian leather designer armchairs that swivel and rock to give ultimate comfort and relaxation. The space upstairs has been utilised and cleverly and lovingly designed to make it feel open, fresh and airy, and also incorporates a fabulous hand-crafted oak dining bar and stools.
On making your way to the shower room and double bedroom on the ground floor you will notice the quality craftsmanship that has gone into creating the gorgeous oak staircase featuring oak bannisters and glass balustrade. Spanning the whole of the ground floor is the lovingly restored original stone floor which now makes up the cosy bedroom with en-suite facilities. The bedroom has a built-in oak wardrobe/cupboard, and a large solid oak cupboard in the shower room for storage. A traditional and comfortable iron bed is adorned with soft cotton sheets for a relaxing night’s sleep. The ground floor was once a shippon and a loose box and as such has a stable door which serves as an opening window and an occasional convenience door.
Outside, there is rattan bistro furniture for al-fresco dining and a ‘love-seat’ with coffee table and footrests for lounging and relaxing and just sitting back to breathe in the fresh countryside air and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings. Alongside this, there is a patio area with a summerhouse, outside toilet and private use of a bubbly and cosy two-person hot tub with spectacular views. The owner has thoughtfully provided robes, towels and slipperettes for your convenience.
The location is just as superb as Piggledy Cross Barn, positioned directly on a footpath leading to the Manifold Valley where you can walk for miles and miles. There is an abundance of fabulous walks and scenic trails to explore together with cycle routes and tracks, cafés, tea rooms, delightful little villages and pubs. The local market towns include Leek, Buxton and Ashbourne, all within easy reach.
Alton Towers theme park and gardens is 20 minutes’ drive away and makes for a great day out. The spectacular country houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are about a 40-minute drive away via the delightful and historic village of Bakewell.
Butterton village where Piggledy Cross Barn is situated, boasts the very enviable title of ‘doubly thankful village’, a status awarded to a very grateful little village on the safe return of every man and boy from the village who went to fight in both World Wars. The newly refurbished and popular pub is just a 300-yard stroll away, offering home cooked meals and great ales and wines.
Piggledy Cross Barn is located on the owner’s non-working small holding adjacent to a working farmer’s field surrounded by sheep and lambs, so there will be occasional farm traffic passing through as the farmer goes about his business. Offering luxury accommodation for a couple, two friends or a solo holiday maker, you cannot be disappointed with the location or all that the newly renovated Piggledy Cross Barn has to offer.
This property is strictly no smoking throughout, including in the hot tub and anywhere outside the property.
