Outside

To the front an acre of grassed courtyard faced by other classic historical cottages. To the rear, and private to the guests, are ¾ of an acre of beautiful formal gardens inside a high brick wall that surrounds the property (making it very dog-secure).

In the gardens are three patio areas. The main patio by the house has a dining table for 8 guests, which can easily be increased by bringing the spare tables and chairs out from the Garden Room, ideal for al fresco dining day or night. The south facing garden patio offers sofa seating for 10 or more guests and has a BBQ area with both charcoal and gas BBQ's (charcoal and gas supplied), and a firepit (logs supplied) The quiet patio has a large hammock and two deckchairs. All three patios are lit at night.

The Spa area has a six-seater jacuzzi hot tub, an infrared sauna seating four, and a changing area which is home to pool towels, robes and sandals.

Further down the garden is the Tree House (with removable staircase for parents who prefer to limit use) and a secret den for the children.

At the far end of the walled garden is the games pavilion with everything you need to play tennis (fun, not match), football, badminton, table tennis, croquet, cricket to name a few of the games. All the rackets and balls supplied and there is lighting enough to allow evening play if an important match runs late.

2nd visit
2nd visit, 1st time this time last year. As good as last year, beautiful house with so much on offer. Gorgeous gardens which we unfortunately couldn’t make the most of due to the weather. A few minor niggles which I’ll text vendor with direct. Us 12 ladies loved our stay again, plenty of room in a superb house.

Perfect family weekend retreat
We booked The Coach House for a family weekend. The criteria for the location was to be as central as possible for everyone to travel to and it was perfect. So close to the motorway but at the same time in the middle of the countryside. We were planning to visit other places but the walks without getting in the car were ideal. The house itself has to be the best equipped house I have stayed in, the hosts have literally thought of everything. We made use of some of the games and enjoyed the dressing up box and photo frame! The garden is so good for younger children from the lovely tree house to games of hide and seek, and of course the hot tub was a real hit. The hosts were great, around if you needed anything, quick to respond and help with the car charger! The information we received pre arrival about the house, surrounding area and local pubs etc was very detailed. We literally wanted for nothing and had a fabulous weekend.

Brilliant for family/group gatheringss
Perfect house with everything you need! We were two families of four, plus grandparents and the house offered everything we could have asked for. Kitchen well equipped. Plenty of entertainment for the children (and adults!) and the garden was just fantastic. Comfy beds too. Super speedy communication from the host. Thank you!

Wonderful
We had the most wonderful stay at The Coach House. It is a beautiful property both inside and out with seemingly endless nooks and crannies both in the house itself and in the stunning garden. The property lends itself to large family gatherings with plenty to do for adults and kids alike. Brian and Sara were lovely hosts - great communication both prior to and after our stay. We were welcomed with a bottle of cold bubbles to help us settle in which was very thoughtful. Loved it! Recommend it! Will be back!

A wonderful house - highly recommended!
We stayed at The Coach House over the summer bank holiday weekend for a 70th birthday celebration with extended family. The house was everything we could have wished for and we all had a wonderful time making some lasting memories. The rooms were spacious and clean throughout and every need was catered for. The garden was beautifully kept with lots to do for the children and adults alike. A particular favourite for the children was toasting marshmallows at the fire pit and watching the outdoors lights brighten up the garden late into the evening. The owners have paid a lot of attention to detail to make the experience comfortable and memorable for guests. We really enjoyed taking the dog out on walks around the farm and surrounding area, following one of the many recommended routes. We would love to return one day, perhaps for a big family Christmas which The Coach House would be perfect for. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
