Very comfortable cottage in the centre of the lovely village. The property had everything required for a relaxing break. We visited nearby Castle Drogo, ate at Michelin starred restaurant Gidleigh Park and wandered round the village and local area. The property is small and although there are beds for 4 the lounge only really seats 3 and the shower room is particularly compact but beautifully presented. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay
Lisa's cottage is lovely. Its beautifully decorated and furnished. Its a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the escape that is Chagford. Walks are on your doorstep and the centre of the village is a 2 min walk. The cottage is small but has everything you need for a perfect break. Lisa was quick to reply to all comms and very helpful.
The cottage is located very near to the center of the village, which has everything you need for a long stay. The kitchen is well appointed but we did have problems with the overly sensitive smoke detector. Communication with Lisa was excellent. She responded immediately to any questions we had. The place is best suited for people who plan to spend most of their time outdoors walking and exploring, since it doesn’t have an outdoor patio or yard. Chagford is a very special place with lots to do even if you don’t have a car. We loved our time there.
The house really is as lovely as it looks in photos. It is small but perfectly sufficient for two people. The property is situated on a quiet street with many lovely independent shops, cafés and pubs nearby. Our host was also very friendly and helpful through the booking and check in process. We would happily stay again!

About the host

Hi My name is Lisa and Moss Cottage is my second home and sanctuary. I live in Tunbridge Wells and run my own Interior Design company, which keeps me very busy. I come to Chagford to decompress and enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings that Dartmoor National Park has to offer. I hope that you too will feel how wonderful this very unspoilt area is and have a wonderful time in Moss Cottage.
Why they chose this property
Moss Cottage is so centrally located within the village that you can walk anywhere to enjoy all of the amenities. I sometimes come for a break and do not move my car for days, as long walks on the moors and along the river Teign can be enjoyed by simply stepping outside the door. At the end of an exhausting day, Moss Cottage will envelope you in a cosy relaxed environment allowing you to totally unwind.
What makes this property unique
Chagford is an exceptionally friendly village where everyone is welcome. The amenities for such a small village are exceptional. This along with the geographical position, for me, make it a thoroughly unique place to stay.
