Property is in a lovely, quiet little hamlet with everything you need for a few days. Check in was easy and owner was quick to answer any queries. No phone reception but wifi worked perfectly. We enjoyed our stay.
Lovely cottage and village shop .Pet friendly garden.Very pretty village .The cottage very clean and cozy.Loved hearing the church bells.Contact with host when needed great .Hope to stay again.
We had a wonderful time at Shamrock Cottage. The lovingly nostalgic décor, the peaceful location in the picturesque village of Ilsington, and the small garden with its apple tree and blackberry bushes—where, thanks to the beautiful weather, we were able to enjoy both breakfast and dinner—made our stay a truly special experience.

Beautiful location
A quaint village with a brilliant pub. Very friendly locals. The cottage is living and breathing history. It is in need of some tender loving care and renovation.
We used this property as a base to revisit many places in Devon we hadn't been to for years. It was ideal. Only a few minutes drive, and you're up on the beautiful moors. It was such a bonus we could take our dogs with us. The pub round the corner was very welcoming and the church bells on Sunday morning were glorious. Contact with the property manager was easy with quick responses.
We had a lovely weekend staying in this Characterful cottage with dog friendly garden. The village has a great pub and shop and friendly locals. Conveniently located for visits to Haytor, Becky falls and Bovey Tracey.
Comfortable character cottage with lovely garden. Fabulous location next to church and near to village shop and pub. Extremely friendly villagers and warm welcome in pub and shop. Thank you to Sue, we really enjoyed our stay. The dark skies of Dartmoor showed us the best stars! We loved Haytor and all the local countryside. Superb!
There are a few minor problems Front door lock. Cooker light doesnt go off when temperature reached, not a lot of utensils etc for self catering. Lovely position with a nice garden. Looking to next year rather shocked at price rise.
Wonderful quiet village with great pub. Ideal cottage with quiet garden, very good facilities and excellent communication with host. Thoroughly recommended, thank you very much.
The cottage was clean tidy had everything we needed including wifi, nice quiet village with friendly locals, village shop was handy and the village pub was a miutes walk from cottage and did amazing food and catered for gluten free with a very wide choice of dishes. From the village you are only 30 mins from Torquay and Exeter and there are some amazing walks to do and we were only a stones throw from Dartmoor where we also hadng walks. This is a great place if your looking for a nice relaxing holiday. We also toom our dog and everywhere we wnt was very dog friendly.
Not only was this cottage absolutely beautiful , it was spotlessly clean , incredibly affordable and a wonderful place to stay, all people in the village being so welcoming , the host went above and beyond to accomodate ,they even provided a bottle of wine and other bits on arrival , and quick responses to any questions about the local area , I highly reccomend and am azed at the price
Property was in a lovely location. The features of the house were lovely and the owners were very helpful with communication. We booked very last minute and they accomodated us very well
I chose this property on price and location and both were spot on.Unfortunately the weather was not great but we can’t blame our hosts for that! The cottage was warm, we had to use the heating, and the garden was lovely and private….it stayed dry enough for an Easter egg hunt whilst the church bells rang out!Particularly enjoyed the goodies left for us.
Location is superb and just 5 mins from the open moor at Haytor. The garden was perfect for a glass of wine in the sun. Bit more ambient lighting in the sitting room and maybe a comfy armchair or two would be lovely for late summer evenings. Otherwise everything you need is there. The shower is amazing and the cooker too once we had learnt how to use it
