Totnes is a beautiful historic town, with a wealth of unique shops on the high street. The home is in easy level access reach to the town centre and river. Our host for the accommodation was wonderful and accommodating to our needs. Happily use this home again.
Stayed here with my elderly mother for 2 weeks. Perfect base of operations for exploring this area of Devon. Just one street over from the shops for convenience but far enough away for the street to be quiet at night. Beware that the stairs to the bedroom are shallow and steep, so if you have any mobility needs this might be difficult for you. Luckily this was not an issue for us.
Really enjoyed our stay at the property in Totnes. Location great and place feels homely. Extremely well kitted out and cooking easy as a result with a few sundries in cupboard. Decor is a little tired and a few things needed replacing (blind string fell apart from what looks like a previous repair). However had a genuinely great time and would recommend.
Property very nice and convenient with all amenities needed. Close to centre of Totnes and bus stop (railway station a bit further). A bit of noise from the street in one of the bedrooms. Great travel suggestions by owner and nice walks in the area.
This was the perfect place to stay while we visiting our son and his family. The bus left hourly to Newton Abbot and the town of Totnes has wonderful eateries and shops. The property was perfect, clean and had all we needed.
The property was very good equipped, very close to the city centre and also quiet - besides of the seagulls ;-) Host book very helpful for the usage of the equipments in the guesthouse.
Totnes is a very good location to visit and the distances to the points of interests is also very good.
Very central location a stones throw from Totnes centre. Well appointed and comfortable property all amenities provided. Would highly recommend this property to potential visitors. (A tea tray would be a useful addition though !!)
Like Totnes, the feel of this cottage was a bit quirky owing to its French owner perhaps. Blissfully cool inside, top 20’s out, it had everything a holidaymaker required for a comfortable stay.
It’s position to the town and river is great with the only downside being the lack of a parking space/ permit.
A lovely two-story cottage, very close to all the amenities of Totnes. We were very comfortable. Well-equipped kitchen, which was important to us.
The outdoor grill, mentioned in the property description, wasn’t available, unfortunately. Too bad, as it was great grilling weather for much of our stay.
We had intended to go as a group but that fell apart due to illness, so only I can report.
The property is very well appointed, and in an excellent location for exploring Totnes and surrounds.
Highly recommended.
A lovely, quaint old cottage, amply supplied with all you need for your stay. The area is great. Parking is difficult but can easily be solved by installing the parking app on your phone. You can then renew your parking at 8am from the cottage. Just a couple of points - there is no DVD player and check-in is at 2:30.
The property was really good. However the description gives the impression that the property has parking. It does not have parking, we had to park in a car park 10 mins walk away and wake up at 8 every morning to book parking for the day. If the property owner wants to claim the property has parking then he he should provide a parking permit.

Location and key code entry were ideal for our short stay.
Couldn’t find welcome pack or relevant containers for recycling, but left details for cleaner; also about what wasn’t working!
The house was where and what we needed for a place to stay for a family wedding, if a bit dated. The standard of cleaning could be better; Indoors was ok, the outside needs jetwashing and tidying up. There was a plastic bag on the doorstep that had clearly been there for some time & the steps were slippery and potentially dangerous. Overall the place needed to be cleaned with more attention to detail. The radio needs a decent aerial so that it doesn't 'hiss' all the time regardless of retuning.
We would recommend this cottage, plenty of room for 2 or 4 people, well equipped and very clean with a small courtyard, which s always a bonus in Totnes as outside space hard to find sometimes Ii is located very centrally in to the wonderful town of Totnes., with an abundance of bohemian independent shops and eateries and a good choice of pubs/restaurants.
Would highly recommend the 'pie shop'! Or venture slightly further afield to Ashprington to a very friendly Durant Arms or Tuckenhay to The Warermans Arms on the river. Plenty to do in Totnes. Would highly recommend the walk along the Dart Trail to Dartmouth (or you could break it up and get dart ferry part way there/back if 14 miles is a bit much). Beaches within 20-30 mins drive - blackpool sands and bantham beach worth a visit too.
Would definitely return to this cottage. Thank you
Nice base for the area. Cottage is clean and has everything you need for a week away. No issues with the host. Loads of clean towels, good kitchen and dish washer and clothes washer if you need them. Only a few minutes walk to the high street for all the shops and bars. Would return again. If you are worried about parking as some reviews have said download the RingGo app and leave your car at the long marsh car park. The app sends you reminders to top up. It’s £4:20 a day as it’s free 18:00 to 08:00. The local buses are great. £5:00 day rover ticket and you will be able to see the whole area. Parking is an issue all over Devon but it is easy to get about without a car.
This was a characterful cottage in an ideal location in the centre of town. Mostly the fittings etc were fine but some annoying missing items incl mop for kitchen floor, extracor in bathroom and details for recycling rubbish. The biggest drawback was parking - limited parking outside property and all 24 hour parking a walkaway at a daily charge.

Dual nationality, living in London. I own this property and rent it out for holidays when I am not using. I am very particular about the appearance, comfort and character of the dwelling which I cherish as home from home. I do hope people staying in it, will enjoy and appreciate the effort done to keep it to a high standard.
Why they chose this property
Totnes is a lovely town in Devon, offering alternative living and a peaceful way of life away from busy London. Ideal for long week ends and holidays in Devon.
What makes this property unique
Peaceful environment in a cottage giving you comfort and a quaint ambiance typical in a dwelling over 200 years old. 1 pet (dog small dog max. 10 kilograms but NO cat ) is allowed for an additional charge THE STAIRS leading to the upstairs bedrooms are some what steep and not suitable to mobility issues.
