Great property awful owner
We booked the house for a family celebration with months of notice. Yet with days to go, Jonathan contacted us saying we had booked for too many people and that we’d need to pay more. He asked to move the conversation to WhatsApp, and then proceeded to tell us that we were not allowed to make any outdoor noise at the property, even in the daytime when we arrived, so as to not draw complaints from neighbours. Given the short notice, we chose to continue with our trip. When we arrived, the house wasn’t very clean, with crumbs on the kitchen table and the freezer full of old food and melted and refrozen gunk. The over door, at knee height, had been glued on. We didn’t realise this until the second day when it came apart as we tried to use it, extremely dangerous, not least because there were small children in our group. Large containers of shampoo/shower gel in one of the bathrooms had leaked onto the floor. We took photos of everything we came across. After checkout, Johnathan tried to blame us for a number of damages, including the freezer and shower gel. When we went back to him and offered to send evidence that this was the case when we arrived, he never replied. The house is lovely, and in a great location (although at the end of a row of houses and not isolated as the pictures would have you believe) but I wouldn’t want to deal with the host again
