Cute Downtown Apartment, Walk to University, Shops & More!

This cute apartment is centrally located 1 block from Missoula's river-front trails, 3 blocks from downtown & the University of Montana campus, convenient to the I-90 interstate exchange, and within an easy walk to Missoula's best coffee shops, restaurants, theaters, and music venues.

We like that we don't have to drive to hike - our neighborhood is at the confluence of the North Hills, Clark Fork River, Crazy Canyon, Mount Sentinel, and Mount Jumbo trail systems - or to fish - we're just off the confluence of Rattlesnake Creek and the Clark Fork River where the native cutthroat congregate. We are an easy walk over either of the two pedestrian footbridges, a short river stroll to happy hour or concerts at the Top Hat & Wilma, and a (too!) close for a cone of ice cream at either Big Dipper or Sweet Peaks. This location also boasts spectacular views of Mount Jumbo, Mount Sentinel, and the Hellgate Canyon.

This apartment is part of a duplex - we live upstairs and are available for advice about what to do and where to go. If you decide to book this property, you will enter through the main door that leads to a small entry way. Our door is on the left and yours is on the right. This keeps it easy should you have any questions or concerns.

The apartment was exactly what we needed. Clean, tidy, comfortable, well appointed. Very convenient to the school, groceries, coffee and restaurants. Bed was super comfortable, and the shower was awesome! Great water pressure, and hot water almost immediately.

Great location for downtown access

We had a wonderful stay. The listing was exactly as described. It was cozy and well planned out. There were some very nice touches our host included, that made it even more personal. The location to downtown was perfect for walking, which we did several times a day. The location was also great for drives to see the Bitterroot Valley and Seeley Lake. We enjoyed our stay and especially the closeness to downtown. Thank you!

Overall this was not a relaxing stay. Overall it is a cute property when you first walk in the door. They advertised it as a small unit... and it is. However, we thought it would be ok for a Mother/Daughter. After a long days drive to get there, a quiet relaxing evening was needed. However this was not to be. The TV can barely be seen from the couch (it wont pivot at the wall) . The neighbors were very noisy.... as in really loud. Like... the tv can be heard through the walls, the sounds of mom yelling at the kid(s) could be constantly heard, the sounds of the toilet flushing, the front door slamming and shaking the walls. The lights over the breakfast bar shook and swayed from the vibrations from running footsteps above. I realize it was one of the warmer days in Missoula and the unit doesn't have AC, but it really needed it. The fan provided has a timer on it causing it to stop in the middle of the night making things very uncomfortable. Opening windows is not really the answer since there is an operating railyard across the street. I guess with all things renter beware.

Perfect place for visit with our UMT child

My husband and I flew into Missoula to help our UMT daughter move into her new apartment. Meg was completely helpful in giving recommendations and allowing our daughter to spend one night in the apartment on the futon. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen was well-equipped, and the bathtub was a welcome sight after hours of moving. We especially appreciated the white noise machine and ear plugs placed next to the bed, in case of the nearby train passage. (We found the white noise machine to be especially helpful.) Overall, a wonderful stay.

A+ location and charm

We didn't want to leave. We were in town to do some house hunting and had little knowledge of Missoulas different areas. After walking to all the downtown restaurants, shops, river front, farmers market, Black Coffee Roasters, and breweries... we told our agent we'd really want to live in this area. If you're coming to town and want to be walking distance to the attractions this is the place to be. It's also close to the Interstate (although you can't hear it), for when you want to explore Flathead Lake or drive to Glacier. The apartment is in immaculate condition in a very quiet neighborhood and had everything we needed. Meg was a great host and very responsive with communication. If we visit again before moving here, we'll be back at the Jefferson House!!!

We are a couple in our mid-30s who loves living downtown. We enjoy running on trails out our front door, walking to downtown restaurants, floating on the river, hiking, fishing, and more. We love where we live and love where we work and can't see us living anywhere else than this university town.

Why they chose this property

We bought this home because of the location. It's not on a main street but couldn't be more centrally located. It's rare for us to use our car if we want to eat, drink, and play in our vibrant downtown. We are less than a mile from the University of Montana and walk to the UM to watch football & basketball games and listen to concerts.
