Older, small house in peaceful vacation community with short walk to beach and shops

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights in June 2023. DanCenter check in went smoothly. We had a problem getting the house key to work, and the DanCenter staff was very helpful at closing time -- even sending out a maintenance person to check on us after hours. I was in a bit of a panic when I couldn't get the key to work -- wondering as a foreigner and non-Danish/German speaker how I would be able to contact someone to get into the house after the DanCenter closed (I'm not sure I ever found an "emergency" or after-hours phone number that didn't go to a recording). For this reason, I would recommend arriving at least by 3pm so you can check in and get in the house before the office closed. I had a good experience with DanCenter on another house in Fanø, so I would consider renting from them again. The house sits low, surrounded by grass-covered berms and dunes with a short walk to the beach (about 10 mins). This location was also very nice because it was peaceful and secluded, while still only a 10-minute walk to the shops and the fantastic Meny supermarket. The house itself is older, and musty-smelling, and in need of some upgrades in the kitchen and bathroom. However, I thought the price was very reasonable, and it was cozy enough for my wife and I. If in this area again, I would probably first look for a newer house, unless I was trying to save money or find something just for two people. In a pinch, I wouldn't mind staying here again.
