Moat house 1 is a beautify located house on the edge of the cricket green facing the village

One of the many benefit’s is the down stairs entrance , just opposite the car park for easy entrance and departure

Moat house has 2 bedrooms downstairs both with bathrooms , The main feature being the space and the roll top bath and separate shower

The master bedroom has been specially designed as it was once the main armoury during the highland clearances of the 17 century when the Monastery was a fort

The second bedroom has 3 single beds ideal for adults or children

Up stairs is your own lounge and separate kitchen

The lounge has a Screen TV, DVD/CD player.

Wonderful stay!

Really great place! The Highland Club is beautiful with lots to do. We loved Moat House 1. Comfy beds, great shower and bathtub. Nice sitting room upstairs and kitchen is pretty and updated. The kids (15, 19 & 21) all loved it! The cloisters were beautiful and the whole area is just great! I really recommend it!

A hidden gem

This place was amazing. Fort Augustus is a great base for a wide variety of highland daytrips and this place was a perfect little home away from home. It's only about a two minute walk to the heart of the small town from your front door. The swimming pool is neat, the grounds are interesting to walk, and the restaurant was lovely.

Perfect Stay!

The location, property and town were all perfect! We were able to day trip to Glenfinnan, Inverness and Isle of Sky. Used the tennis courts, pool, and strolled the bank of Loch Ness. The CaledonIan Canal locks in Ft. Augustus are a real bonus. Would definitely return to the Monastery for a stay and highly recommend.

A short trip to the highlands

We have stayed in this location before and found it very good for the walks and wonderful scenery. Accommodation was as advertised main bedroom has no windows so no access to wifi or any signal. Kitchen is small and compact.

Amazing stay! Mark was very inviting. The location is inside the fort! Its beautiful. The house is very nice. We had 2 elderly,they struggled with the stairs. If you have young family, its an amazing property. The bath tub doesn't have shower head, so only one shower to use. Outside there is a restaurant too, we didnt use it though. The surroundings are amazing.

We stayed in Moat House 1 at St. Benedicts Abbey. It was a great location for our day visits to the Isle of Skye. The property is right on Loch Ness and the grounds are beautiful. It’s location to the town was great too. We did some shopping and ordered dinner a few nights. The property was clean and provided us all we needed for our family of 4. There was plenty of activities to do on the grounds. There was someone to greet us and explain everything upon our arrival. That was very much appreciated. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

Fantastic Base for the Highlands

Just Wow, from the moment you arrive at the gates the property itself is impressive. The house was a great base from which we explored Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle, Eilean Doran, Isle of Skye etc. The kitchen is small and seperate, but since we only made coffee and light breakfast it was no big deal. The shower is AMAZING! and was wonderful after a day of exploring. The residence is a short walk to town with lots of shops etc. The only suggestion I would make to improve the property is a WiFi booster/repeater on the ground floor as the master bedroom does not get WiFi and blocks mobile data. Would stay there again in a heart beat!

There's a pungent moldy smell in the hallway closet under the stairs. This smell spreads through the ventilation grilles throughout the apartment. The caretaker calls it "a slightly musty smell," but it's much more than that. We were short of breath, and our children complained of headaches and nausea. There's no window in the master bedroom, and the adjoining bathroom doesn't have one either. There's an extractor fan, but it's so loud it's unpleasant to have running. The carpet is stained everywhere and smells musty. We hated it and left two days early. Our children (10 and 6 years old) call this apartment "the stinking hole," and that says it all.

4 tolle Nächte an Loch Ness

Wir hatten eine wunderbare Zeit. Check-In war problemlos, jemand hat uns am Parkplatz getroffen und die Wohnung gezeigt. Die Wohnung geht über zwei Stockwerke. Die Wohnung hat einen eigenen Eingang nach draußen im Erdgeschoss und zusätzlich einen Eingang in das Hauptgebäude im ersten Obergeschoss. Die Wohnung hat im Erdgeschoss zwei Schlafzimmer mit eigenen Bädern jeweils mit Badewanne. Das Schlafzimmer für zwei Personen hat keine Fenster, dafür aber zusätzlich auch noch eine Dusche.Im ersten Obergeschoss ist ein Ess-/Wohnzimmer und die Küche, die gut ausgestattet ist. Das Hauptgebäude ist fantastisch. Man fühlt sich wie in Hogwarts.

Es war eine traumhaft schöne Woche. Wir hatten alles was wir brauchten. Das fußläufig erreichbare Dorf, die Umgebung des ehem. Klosters, die freundlichen Menschen, das Schwillbad (unkompliziert buchbar), das urgemütliche Spielezimmer mit Billard, Schach, Backgammon, etc.), (für den Fitnessraum war leider keine Zeit mehr): wir waren restlos begeistert. Als zu Anfang die Heizung nicht ansprang, war noch am selben Tag der Service da und hat direkt für Abhilfe gesorgt.

Perfect location for a Loch Ness stay

The Highland club is a perfect location to stay if you plan to stay on Loch Ness. The town is just right outside the fence of the Abbey so everything is in walking distance. The Fish and Chips at the Loch Inn may be some of the best we had in Scotland. There is plants of room to spread out in the apartment. The check-in process is tricky here because there are three different property management companies at the Abby. I saw many, many people confused as to how to check-in when they arrived. That seems to be universal for staying there, not just for this specific apartment. I would definitely stay here again. Such a cool spot.
