The home has been a vacation rental since 2013 and we want to continue this adventure as the new owners of Casa Matriz.
A short distance from scuba diving, whale watching, beaches, marina, restaurants, shops and markets. this big and beautiful smoke-free vacation home lets you experience it all.
Spend some time meandering through the cobble stones streets of Horta City, discovering interesting culture and events by the market then walk back to your accommodation.
The ideal Location in Horta, 3 blocks from the waterfront.
Enjoy the Ocean and city views from the roof top terrace, bedroom verandas or the private courtyard of this 5 bedroom 4 bathroom vacation home.
For a change of scenery, come inside and enjoy the WiFi and TV. A large eat in kitchen, dining area, a BBQ grill, and air conditioning on all the 3 levels of the home.

We bought this amazing large property in 2021, Casa Matriz because it was big and beautiful, and a real traditional Portuguese style home with all of the luxury and features one could possibly imagine. Often we visited Horta every year and we discovered that it was becoming very difficult to find a large property for rent where the entire family of 8 to people could all stay at together. So we were delighted when the opportunity arose that the former owners sold it to us.
The home has been a vacation rental since 2013 and we want to continue this adventure as the new owners of Casa Matriz.

Why they chose this property

We wanted to find a vacation home large enough for all of our extended family and friends to come to in order to truly experience this amazing city of Horta. The other times of the year we wish to open up our vacation to travellers who wish to stay in the heart of the city in luxury, comfort.

What makes this property unique

Our space is a Grande Vacation House in Horta!  Spacious traditional home with lots of character, Portuguese tile work, spread over 3 levels .
Located in the Centre of Horta the Matriz district.  Casa Matriz is tastefully decorated in a traditional style creating that warm home-like setting that is perfect for group travel.
This accommodation facilitates large groups to stay under one roof. Therefore there is no need to rent separate accommodations.
Casa Matriz can accommodate groups of up to 10 people comfortably. With Top notch features: all three levels with internet, air cooling and air heating units. 
There is a superb gathering area, kitchen table for everyone to discuss their adventures that day. Outdoors in the courtyard has a wood fire grill and tables and chairs for an outdoor party.
The house makes for the ultimate family vacation.
