Lovely cottage, perfect for us as we are keen bird- and wildlife-watchers.
Lovely cottage, perfect for us as we are keen bird- and wildlife-watchers. Amazing seeing all the birds and red squirrels come to the well-stocked feeders every day! Loads of books and games provided for our two children and fantastic woodland garden with swings for them to run around in. The cottage was very cosy with so many thoughtful touches - even things like sewing kits and spare batteries! Very handy having the extra loo in the utility room as well as the main bathroom. Highly recommend The Horse and Groom pub a short walk away for great food, drink and service; also very family-friendly with a huge play area.
Just returned from a lovely stay at Westfield. The location was perfect for us, extremely secluded which is just what we were after. The track down to the property was a bit rough and we were pleased that it had been dry as I don’t think we would have made it otherwise. The house itself was lovely and clean. Had everything you could think of but was looking a bit tired. We didn’t mind the rustic feel if honest. We got to see lots of lovely wildlife including red squirrels and woodpeckers. Walkable to the beach but a bit of a climb at some points. The host was excellent with communication and would definitely recommend. We’re hoping to come and stay again :o)

We love the Isle of Wight and have visited almost every year for many years.
We love the Isle of Wight and have visited almost every year for many years. We had already identified that the approach lane was rough in places and brought our small 4x4, just as well. It seems that IOW had had a lot of rain recently and consequently the lane was very flooded and muddy. Your drive was a quagmire and we really needed wellies (which we didn't bring). Turning amongst the mud was quite tricky even with a small 4x4 and not easy to find a suitable space to unload the dog and bags. We found the key safe using our phone torch as it was dark. Lovely homely cottage. A few items we found:Great log burner, worked well and thank you for the logs and tinder. It quickly made the cottage very cosy. The glass panel was very sooty already, not our doing! The dab radio would only stay on very briefly, maybe we weren't using it correctly, although we have similar at home. The middle ceiling light (of 3) was not working. We could have used a microwave, but no big deal, we managed. We were not able to get the radiators in either bedroom to work. The boiler is noisy on starting and running, but we and the dog quickly got used to it! We couldn't get the TV upstairs to work, probably our stupidity and so we used my laptop and car radio for news. The wi-fi was excellent. The double bed mattress was pretty uncomfortable and so we used the single beds on second night and came home a day early. Sounds like a lot of complaints, but we actually had a lovely time and so did the dog. We loved the birds and of course the red squirrels. We bet its fantastic in better weather, we loved the birds. We really appreciate all the lovely touches in your cottage with the welcome pack, lovely paintings (you are obviously very talented), all the books and DVDs etc.
