About this property
Luxury, Stylish Home, With Garden, Sea Views and Parking.
Zalia Wight is the latest addition to the small collection of private, luxury holiday homes in the Zalia Retreats portfolio.. A secret house, with light, space and sea views, luxurious although with a ‘beach shack’ vibe.
Within easy reach of London and excellent fast roads from the North. Your holiday starts as you board the ferry; from either Portsmouth Quay to pretty Fishbourne, or from Lymington Marina to the pier at Yarmouth or the sailors' route from Southampton to Cowes.
There is the special micro climate of which this area of Wight boasts , giving bright, warm days even in February and long sun filled days for summer holidays.
The two bedroom, two bathroom house sits in its own terraced garden which is essential to its charm. The steps at the end of the garden begin the short walk to the beach or along the coastal walk to Ventnor.
Floor to ceiling windows give glorious views of the garden and sea ; on rain soaked days you still feel part of the outdoors and on sunny days you can fold them right back and live both in and outside.
In this open plan living space is a pretty little stove, easy to light and heart warming . Of course the house also has a new and efficient central heating system which supplies heat and masses of hot water.
Oak flooring in this room is complemented by a stylish blue tweed sofa and other contemporary pieces.
There is a good wifi Internet connection with Sky HD television and a DVD player.
EATING
The dining table has more than enough space for six to eat indoors. Simple white crockery, cutlery with linen napkins and masses of glassware, makes serving easy. Everything, bar the super kitchen knives, will go into the dishwasher.
In the generous and uncluttered kitchen it is a pleasure to prepare food. Stunning colours in the wall tiles and Moorish patterned floor tiles have transformed this work space. There are all the big appliances you would expect - a tall fridge/freezer with a chilled, drinking water facility, a spotless oven and hob set into the wooden work top, ceramic sinks, plus a dishwasher and washing machine
SLEEPING AND BATHING
The bedrooms lead off a corridor . Everything has been painted predominantly chalk white to reflect the coastal light but both bathrooms feature colour and amazing tile work.
The second bedroom has full-size twin beds (which can convert into a super king-size double) with top quality mattresses, super pillows and White Company bed linen.
There is a generous wet room with rainfall shower, loo and washbasin across the corridor.
The main bedroom probably has the greatest charm in that it is dominated by a splendid view across the garden and village to the sea. From this room you have your own door onto the deck. A super king-size double bed, excellent mattress with wonderful pillows and again, White Company bed linen. This room has another space, a magical daybed in the window. It was created to make a quiet spot to laze and gaze. This could be made up into a child’s full-sized single ‘cubby bed’ at your request.
This bedroom has private access to a wet room, with large bath, rainfall shower, loo and washbasin.
The owners are pleased to offer Orla Kiely handwash throughout this Zalia house.
OUT OF DOORS
Step out from the living space or from your bedroom onto a newly installed deck, shaded by palms and with sufficient space to imagine you really are 'beside the sea' in your own 'beach hut'. You still, however, have access to all the facilities of the house and can keep an eye on any of your children who may be playing on the lawns below. A lower deck has space for the large garden dining table and benches.
Lawns and pebbles are terraced with planting to add interest to the space and all lead to a secret flight of stone steps in the far corner of the garden which begin the path to the beach.
