Stunning views and peaceful location

A real haven and worth climbing the hill for. Perfect for solo travellers. Clean and comfortable. Make sure you bring a few dishwasher tablets/washing up liquid and bin liners as there were none provided at the property.

Stunning views!

Our recent stay at Sea View was amazing, the appartment was cosy, but everything paled into insignificance compared to the views of the stunning coastline of the Isle of Wight. I can even overlook the rated dated procedure of the keys being posted to me ans having to drop them back after we had checked out!

Beautiful peaceful location on 2nd floor of old mansion. Views out to sea are breathtaking. Happy to reccomend this property. Weather was very good when we were there in Sept. You can walk into Shanklin within few minutes and in the other direction you can pick up the coast path walk to Ventnor from road outside property. . .

Fantastic views

We booked a last minute holiday and were very happy to have found SeaView. The staff were very helpful in sorting out the keys etc out of hours. The location and the grounds are beautiful. The apartment itself is comfortable and has all the essentials. It could be slightly cleaner, but otherwise all good.

Lucky with the weather.

Had a nice holiday, thankyou. Lucky with the weather some days, the flat got warm in the sun, but when wet or windy, the old windows rattled, and it got cold and felt damp. TV and hi fi are dated. Seating bit uncomfortable. Nice sea view, on cliff, top of a steep hill.

Good apartment for two people.

Stunning views from the apartment. Quiet location. Good space for a couple. good wifi. Storage space in second bedroom very limited. Good appliances but lacked enough cutlery particularly if booked for four people. Customers need to be made aware that toilet and kitchen rolls and washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets are not provided which we found surprising.

Shabby, Well worn and dated, NOT 'recently' refurbished in the last decade

At least 10 complaint issues arising daily. Grubby, floor skirting boards, dirty & old food under furniture(no show of a deep clean in past few years). Old tired crockery/cutlery, had to eat off 4 plastic plates. Tumble dryer did not work, bathroom health hazard x broken panel in top corner under sink, grimy grey slime underneath of bathmat. Pealing cupboard door next to oven. Beautiful views from lounge area/bedrooms be CAREFUL, no window restraints to stop these beautiful windows opening to full capacity x 4ft = danger of falling out. No love in this apartment which is in a beautiful building/area.

A lovely apartment. Fantastic views lovely gardens and good location and plenty of car parking space. The only issue we had was wardrobe space The wardrobe in the 2nd bedroom was a child's wardrobe and wasn't tall enough for adult clothing and the wardrobe in the main bedroom was full of stuff leaving very little space. Some of the furniture was old and tired and could do with replacing

Great location - poor internal standard

This apartment is certainly in a stunning location with wonderful views and gardens and good parking. Apart from the kitchen which is relatively well equipped and clan, the rest of the place is in dire need of a deep clean; it’s soft furnishings are worn out (the pillows and towels are particularly clapped out) and there is a dangerous level of black mould in the tiny bathroom. The second bedroom is not big enough for two kids let alone adults and the flat’s large windows and high balcony mean it is not suitable for children. The bathroom needs major reconfiguration and refurbishment – there is zero shelf space, not enough towel drying space, no door hooks and a disgusting mould-infected shower screen. This is not a professional holiday let – it is somebody’s private holiday gaff that is being let to offset the owner’s costs – all of these issues (and more) have been reported in the visitor’s book over the last 2-3 years. There are other flats in this building on other letting sites that appear to be in much better order.

3rd stay at Seaview

This is our 3rd stay at Seaview. We keep coming back because of the fantastic view. However this flat needs lots of TLC. Bathroom was a bit grim with black mould around bath. Window was cleaner this year so we were pleased about that. However when open the windows, windowsills (where window was and outside windowsill) were so dirty ..full of cobwebs and dead bugs !! Couldn’t open the window in small bedroom because dead bugs & dirt were coming onto bed. We think no-one clean them. Please clean windowsills inside & out, and get rid of black mould around bath. Thank you for painting outdoor furniture, however the parasol was broken and unable to use it ..such a shame. Still, We had a lovely time there overlooking beautiful views and seeing red squirrels running around the garden was so special. Look forward to coming back again.

Gorgeous Location BUT

This apartment is in a great location with amazing views out to sea. It is quiet and relaxing. The balcony is a comfortable size to sit out on, but you are exposed to your neighbours, just a few feet away. A screen is definitely needed here. It is up a hill but we did not find this a problem. The slope is not that bad. It has everything you need for a few days break. Take some dish washer tablets with you, as they are not provided. BUT, we found this apartment in need of a bit of TLC. Nothing major but just some maintenance and some updated wardrobes, furniture in general. The laminate flooring creeks badly and drove us mad. The neighbours must be able to hear it too. Not good especially at night. The cleanliness of this apartment concerned us most. I am not sure if the cleaner had been in before us or not. The toilet was dirty. The shower head and bath had hair in it. The basin still had soap around the bases of the taps. I had to deep clean the bathroom myself. Two out of four white towels provided were stained. I also had the deep clean the kichen sink. It did smell a bit but after cleaning with a little bleach, it looked like new. I hope that the owners take time to just update this apartment. It really could be so much nicer.

Quiet and perfect for our half term break

We enjoyed our stay and would happily return. The flat was spacious for the two of us and was well equipped with a large fridge/ freezer and dish washer. There is a Lidl or Coop so you can do a shop and stock up. Nice touch to have milk and biscuits for us on arrival. WiFi was fine and no issues. The views from the bay windows were amazing. The bed was comfortable and hot water and heating all worked fine and radiators heated quickly. It was a good location and a walk down the hill to the old town where we got some great fish and chips from the happy haddock and about 15 mins from the beach (the coastal path was closed so you couldn’t follow that down to the beach). Along the beach there is also crazy golf. It’s also a short walk to a bus stop which we used to get the number 3 to Sandown. You can easily drive to all the major attractions. We were able to park fine but should the car park be at capacity in busier months it could be hard if there are too many cars. Slight issue getting the key out the compartment box (make sure you move the little black toggle thing). Having that clearer on the instructions would be helpful as it wasn’t obvious to us. The view was great but we had heavy rain one day which dripped through the timber frame and we had to put towels down. The apartment was clean but could do a slight tidy up (removing dust in bedroom and communal area behind the telly). Kitchen and bathroom were very clean though. Other reviews mention lady birds and there were several there in the living room. The Sky box didn’t work and they have a dvd player so bring your own. No streaming like Netflix which would be good for people to log into but it wasn’t a smart tv. It is just free view. We did make use of their cluedo board game. All in all we’d be very happy to stay again and make the most of the balcony in the warmer months. A nice place to stay - convenient, good value and the team at Island Holiday Homes were really friendly and helped book the ferry which was great.

Sehr zu empfehlen Restaurant „The best dressed crab“ in Bembridge. The seafoodplatter war lecker. Reservierung nötig. Nicht vergessen ein paar Wanderungen einzuplanen.

Lovely location with amazing views.

Lovely location with amazing views. We really enjoyed the balcony. The flat was functional and served its purpose but lacked that home-from-home feel. There was a terribly unpleasant, musty smell from the moment we stepped inside. We tried opening windows to air it and spraying air fresheners, but just couldn't shift the odour. Is there a hidden damp problem somewhere? It didn't help that there is absolutely nowhere to dry wet towels etc and the fan in the bathroom was totally ineffectual. The wifi was very intermittent but probably not a lot the host can do about that. All the same we really loved our stay on the IOW and will definitely return, but probably to a different apartment. Thanks

Great see view from the sitting room

It was clean and tidy with modern facilities. Beautiful views from every angle! The only downside is that the blinds were not blocking the light in the morning. It would be great if blackout blinds are fitted.

Fab Views of Isles of Wight

House sits high up on steep hill with fantastic view across the Island and mainland and a large Garden with plenty of seating and views. Property is easy to find with plenty of parking, 1st floor apartment no lift access but carpeted big stairs to apartment. Very clean and light Apartment bathroom is on the small side but usable, nicely equipped Kitchen all appliances you need and utensils. Its a fare walk to the town or beach around 10 mins down hill just a hard walk back needed a few stops (unfit)

Stunning Views!! ... Shame about dirty windows

This is our 2nd stay at Seaview. We love to stay here because of the stunning views. It is a shame the windows and windowsills (outside) are so dirty and full of cobwebs & dead bugs. It was bad 2 years ago and even worse this time. Luckily the weather was good, so windows were open most of the time so we could still enjoy the beautiful sea views. Outside table & chairs were such a state. (We did mention it 2 years ago) But we were really pleased with new addition of a parasol !! We could sit out without too hot. Thank you for that. Also we woke up at 4am as bedrooms were so bright (blind doesn't work well) You need eye mask! Overall, we enjoyed our stay!

Please clean the windows!

We’ve stayed here numerous times over many years as we love the apartment due to it’s location. One of the main attractions is the view as seen in the promotional photos, however, these photos are several years old and the windows have not been cleaned in that time such that they are frankly filthy. Therefore, the outlook is less “sea view’ but more ‘permanent fog’. Such a shame to witness the deterioration of such a fine holiday property. I’m sure it could be rectified quickly.

At the top of a steep hill

Glorious views and lovely grounds. However, we arrived in March when it was cold and windy. The windows and doors in the flat are poor fitting and rattled loudly, letting in a lot of cold air. What a relief when the wind dropped. Bathroom is very cramped. Internet was unusable during our stay. We could not even load emails. Had to use a mobile phone as a hub.

Nice view and warm flat, need a bit of TLC

It was a lovely flat. it needs a big time spring clean as it was so dusty, windows were very dirty, sheets not properly fitted. Also no clear info about anything. the information book was few years old and dusty. Getting and dropping the key is not good. No beach around. 2 acre boring unnecessary garden. Basic toiletry needed.

Great views, and quiet location

Our apartment was in a great location with fab sea views. Also great skies. Bedrooms were good, with ample storage. Only suggestions are the main room seating was not comfortable, and internet slow. But internet cable was being installed on the street during our stay.
