We have owned have owned Honeysuckle cottage for twelve years, it was not our plan to rent out our holiday home, but came with bookings and did so well we just carried on.
We have three children, one boy and two girls, although all grown up now, they all love Shanklin and the beach and can't wait to stay in the cottage.
Being a close family all hands are on deck, our mums are a great help, we have lovely housekeepers and their families who also help, and a very willing gardener's, who turns his hands to most things.
Knowing how much families have to take with them on holiday we have tried to think of everything so that all that needs to be had is a good time!
We really hope you love the cottage and The Isle of Wight as much as we do.

Why they chose this property

We chose Honeysuckle cottage for its great location, we later bought Jasmine and Clematis either side, these are also holiday cottages, as we were finding it hard to find a week free for ourselves! We love how close they are to the beach, water-sports, The Old Village, parks, and great countryside. The size of the garden was another great plus as we had very active children with plenty of energy although almost grown up now. They still love to see the rabbits on the lawn, the jay and looking out for and feeding the squirrels in the winter, they are getting very cheeky!
We love the fact that you feel miles away from the bustle of a busy seaside town, yet are close enough that within a few minutes walk you can be part of it.

What makes this property unique

Honeysuckle cottage for us is a relaxing holiday, surrounded by plenty of things to do and see, or just watch the children play in the garden. The red squirrels are facinating to watch and are getting quite brave! The Old Village has many places to eat out, its nice to walk down in the evening, without the worry of the car, or to stop for dinner or a drink on the way back from the beach. Rylstone Gardens, only a couple of minutes walk away has a crazy golf garden that's fun and café and sometimes in the summer has bands playing in the bandstand. The Island has so many different things of interest, festivals, carnivals, plenty of village shows, history, Shanklin theatre puts on a fabulous pantomime, zoo's, and much more and none of them are more than an hour away.
We have tried to make Honeysuckle cottage as child friendly as possible, stair gates, bed guards, toys, books, DVD's and a great garden to explore, so that you can make your holiday as relaxing and enjoyable as possible.
