Goodlands Farmhouse is a traditional stone-built Yorkshire farmhouse set in the heart of the pretty village of Terrington, within the Howardian Hills and Area of National Beauty, midway between the market towns of Malton and Helmsley and within easy reach of the historic city of York. Surrounded by stunning countryside, this holiday home is the perfect place for family groups to gather and celebrate in truly comfortable surroundings. You step inside and find this holiday home still offers some of the original features, including a working fire in one of the bedrooms! The living room sits to one side of the entrance hall and offers a selection of deep filled sofas and armchairs, an ideal place to come together in the evening and enjoy a competitive board game or perhaps a movie on the large Smart TV.
Across the hall can be found the large farmhouse kitchen which offers an oil-fired AGA as well as an electric oven and grill. The owners have left a selection of AGA cookbooks should you wish to prepare a delicious home cooked evening meal using the aga. This country kitchen provides plenty of storage space as well as long runs of work top. This Yorkshire kitchen offers a breakfast table where you can gather to catch up on the day’s events. The elegant dining room is a delighted with wood panelled bookshelves covering two of the walls. Completing the ground floor accommodation is a toilet and also a large utility room with washing machine and a large fridge/freezer.
To the first floor are four charming bedrooms, a single with garden view, a double room with a working coal fire, twin room and the master room which offers a super king-size zip and link bed with en-suite bathroom. All four bedrooms are beautifully presented with deep filled mattresses and soft furnishings. The house bathroom offers a bath with handheld shower attachment.
Goodlands Farmhouse offers a beautiful garden which has been lovingly created over the last four decades by the current owner’s mother. Mature borders, packed with cottage garden plants and flowers flow seamlessly around two well-trimmed lawns. There is also a sheltered patio area with outside seating. To the top of the garden can be found a summerhouse with additional seating. To the front is a small patio with the most amazing views across the valley. After a long day exploring the Howardian Hills, take a while to relax with a glass of your favourite fizz. And to complete the outside facilities is an enclosed dog walking paddock.
A stone’s throw will bring you to the village store/coffee shop. This is the heart of this village. The coffee and cakes are very popular with visitors and locals alike. The stately home and gardens of Castle Howard, home to Brideshead Revisited and Bridgerton, is just four miles away and just outside the village is the famous Yorkshire Lavender attraction.
