Set within a sleepy hamlet bordering the peaceful village of Mirandol-Bourgnounac, this lovingly restored mid-19th century manor house enjoys sweeping views across the hills and meadows of the verdant Tarn region.
The owners have taken great care to retain the architectural integrity of the building, maintaining original features such as the intricately tiled floors of the ground floor, and the painted beams of the upper floors. The cool, bright interiors and comfortable yet stylish furniture throughout ensure a welcoming and inviting atmosphere. No stone has been left unturned in the owner’s quest to make your stay a most comfortable one, including a fully equipped summer kitchen bordering the swimming pool, encouraging the greatest enjoyment of both the local cuisine and outdoor living.
On the first and second floors, traditional features are again teamed with elegant finishing touches, including a roll-top bath in the principal bedroom. A further three bedrooms on this floor are all individually furnished and decorated, with one benefitting from an en suite shower room and toddler’s ante room. On the second floor a dormitory style bedroom leading to a further double bedroom, each with their own private en suite shower room, provides an excellent option for a family wishing to share this suite-style space.
Leading out from the ground floor, ample terraces surround the heated swimming pool providing comfortable space from which to contemplate the valley alongside the property. Beyond the swimming pool, a wisteria and honeysuckle draped corridor borders a slender garden and chefs will love the excellently appointed summer kitchen complete with shaded terrace area, making al fresco dining a true delight.
Just a short distance from the house you will find the village of Mirandol-Bourgnounac (3km), home to a small range of shops for essentials as well as a restaurant. Nearby, the pretty village of Pampelonne has a bakery and a local cafe. Carmaux (12km) provides further shopping options including a lively traditional Friday market and slightly further afield the unique regional capital Albi (30km), a UNESCO World Heritage site, is home to not only a wide range of shops and restaurants, but also a magnificent cathedral and the Toulouse Lautrec museum: a must for art lovers. In the opposite direction, follow the road along the Viaur valley and discover the Gorges de l'Aveyron and Najac, where river activities such as rafting and paddleboarding are available.
Parties paying the small party rate do not have access to the second floor bedrooms.
Please note: A local tourist tax of £2.40 per person per night is payable for each party member aged 18 or over. We will add this amount to your booking.
