We had a fabulous time - having Lake Huron within steps, the wide open beach for walking & kayaking was great. The beds were all very comfortable (always important), and our stay was quiet and relaxing. A grocery market and a very good restaurant (Red Fork) were about two miles away. We would highly recommend the property!
Great location for a family getaway. We all enjoyed our week there playing games, relaxing by the water and nightly camp fires. Water levels were high so not much beach available during our stay. Mosquitos and black flies were out in full force so bug spray is required!

Thank you so much, Jackie! We're so glad you and your family enjoyed your stay.
All of northern Michigan has had so much rain this spring and summer that the water levels are definitely higher than usual. (and the mosquitoes that come with it!) We look forward to seeing you again next year!
Thanks!
Michelle
The cabin was much bigger than what the pictures show. We had 6 people and had more than enough room. The yard and beach area were also large and allowed for games with a great fire pit. If the opportunity arises, we would love to stay again!
Great cottage for a week of relaxation and family fun. Reminded me of the cottage we went to when I was growing up. It is perfectly private. Everything we needed to cook (including a gas grill, gas provided by owners). Property Manager is very responsive. Couldn't ask for more.
We had a great week there, it just goes by to fast. The cottage was everything we thought it would be and more. The beach was perfect accept for the biting flies, we only had a couple days of those though, but stay near the water and they tend not to bother you. It was very peaceful and tranquil around there, like your in the middle of the woods. We would highly recommend it to anyone and we will probably be there again at some point. Thanks for the good memories Michelle it was well worth it.
We had a lovely week at Greenbush Cottage- so many wonderful things about it. The beach is one of the best we've seen-- lots of sand, walkable in both directions for a long way, shallow and clear beautiful water-- absolutely wonderful! The cottage is just as charming. It's very spacious with a wonderful sitting porch. The beds are very comfortable, and there's a large kitchen table perfect for shared meals and games. The cottage is in a patch of woods that makes it feel miles away from other cottages and people. It's peaceful and secluded. It's the perfect spot. Communication was so easy, and the check in/out process was a breeze. We loved our stay, and we would certainly love to return!

Nice property
Beautiful location, very private, lots of wildlife. Beach is great, you can walk miles in either direction. Lots of great fossils and beach glass. Water was warmer than I expected. Very little is provided in the house, different than what I’ve experienced in other week long rentals and that wasn’t clear in the listing. Plan to bring everything with you: toilet paper, sheets, towels, dish soap, matches…. Advise planning it like a tent camping trip. There were no beach toys for the kids, bring buckets/shovels and water toys if you want them. There were some inflatables for the water, but bring a pump if you’d like to use them.

Come for the beach!
We enjoyed our week at the Greenbush Cottage. It is a rustic cottage in the woods as described. It had everything we needed.
We had one thing to discuss w the owner/property manager during our stay, they were both VERY responsive which we appreciated. The cottage is spacious with loads of rustic charm. Some things could use an update, though it is a great value the way it is.
I can not say enough about the FANTASTIC beach and lake access, this part of the property is a 5 out of 5 stars for sure! We enjoyed nearly every glorious sunrise, walked the beach each morning, and played in the soft sand and crystal clear water all day. We felt the water was fairly warm (it’s Northern MI, so we knew it would be cold, though it was delightful!) We rarely saw other people, we truly felt like we had the beach to ourselves. SO RELAXING! We heard birds chirping every day and saw a fox one morning on the walk. The breeze from the lake was just amazing, Coming through the cottage kept everything so cool and nice, I loved just standing and watching the water and feeling that breeze, also so nice to hear the waves crashing in at night.
We rented a paddle board and kayak for 2 days from Tyler at North Country Canoe rental in Oscoda, we really enjoyed the water toys and Tyler was great to deal with. We took one day trip and visited Alpena, Ocqeoc Falls, Rogers City, Presque Isle along Heritage route 23. One day trip to Grayling and did an 8 mike kayak trip down the AuSable river- AWESOME!
We enjoyed meals, ice cream and sand volleyball in Oscoda and lunch in Tawas.
We played board games every evening, the time with our children was absolutely wonderful, and will always be remembered and cherished!
Thank you!

Thanks so much for coming to stay at the Greenbush Cottage! We're so glad you enjoyed your stay. I love that you enjoyed the beach and natural beauty as much as we do -- it truly is a special place!
We hope to have you stay again soon!
Thanks so much,

The beach was outstanding! The white sugar sand beach was great for the kids to play on and the water was clean with a sandy bottom and gradual depth, providing plenty of shallow water for the kids. The back yard is steps away from the beach and has great spaces for fires and outdoor cooking and eating. The grounds were clean and well maintained. The home was clean and included a kitchen that was well stocked with cookware and small appliances. Each room also had a fan provided to keep air moving through the cottage. Communication with the host was great with quick responses and helpful tips and info. We would absolutely return to this cottage again!
A time to relax and enjoy the mighty beauty of Lake Huron
All went very well. Lovely beach and location. So peaceful yet close enough to visit family and friends nearby. A much needed break.
It would of been nice if there had been bed linens and the basics like paper towels, toilet paper, coffee filters although I guess with COVID I understand the approach. We may well return again. Thank you
We stayed at this property for a week. It was amazing. Picturesque cottage when you imagine one with an awesome setting nestled in the woods. The view is amazing of Lake Huron with just enough trees. The walkway to the beach is awesome and the beach is on a whole different level. Very well taken care of. The natural grass in the sand along the beach makes it something out of Martha Stewart magazine.
Pros- awesome cottage,,, knotty pine through out.
Very private. Didn’t worry once about a 2 and 1 year old running around. Set back fat enough from road and the beach.
Super clean. No sand specks from previous people anywhere.
The covered porch is awesome. Sat out there with the lamp on every night listening to the waves.
Open floor plan. Living area is very big. Kitchen had enough room for a full dining table. We were never on top of each other inside.
Property is awesome. You can tell the owners cleared out just the right amount of foliage to make this place great. They have a cool fire pit area, horse shoes off to the side in the woods.
Cons/suggestions to owner- mattresses are not very comfortable at all. Felt every spring in them.
No a/c. Wasn’t bad for us as we had milder weather, but you can tell as soon as it got even a bit humid outside, the inside was very stuffy very
quick. If we had a week of 90 degree days it would of been worse. Window a/c units maybe?
Not really anything else negative! It was a fantastic stay!!
Family vacation with a 5 and 1.5 year old.
Pros: The beach is definitely the winner here!! It's just a few steps from the house and it's wide, long and has amazing soft sand. No water shoes needed at all. Water was so clear (but freezing since it was early June which we got a heads up about!) and you could walk out quite far before it got deep. It felt like we had a private beach since we saw very few people the whole week.
Very kid friendly beach and house. Our 5 year old could go by herself back to the house for potty breaks. Very safe, private location.
House was large and had a great layout. Location was great, close to anything you could possibly need or want to do. Owner was very pleasant.
Cons: The house is very rustic. If you are used to bright spaces and a modern kitchen I would think twice.
The Bbq and picnic table needs to be replaced. All the kitchen appliances, gadgets and cookware could use some updating, but they are functional. Bathroom shower needs a makeover.
The house was clean, but I think all the wood gives it an unclean feeling, however, it was clean when we arrived. Not a speck of sand.
Our family had a great week. The kids had so much fun on the beach and tearing through the house!!! We made many memories at the Greenbush Cottage!
We had a great week with the Greenbush cottage. Swimming, campfires, relaxing in the cottage.
The property if amazing. Far off of US 23 and right on Lake Huron. The cottage is rustic, all wood, spacious with 3 bedrooms, a large living room and good size kitchen. It was perfect for our family of 4. The property is very secluded, you can't even see your neighbors. Its like you are all alone on the lake. Truly a great property.
We had a great time in the Cottage. Very open floor plan. Only turned the tv on twice. Great to have the private beach of our own during this pandemic times. If you cook, enough items/utinsels to make a meal. Fans we found to use in the bedrooms...A bonus. Would stay again....Owner was very nice to converse with.
We had a nice experience. Everything was very clean. The cabin stayed comfortable during the day when it was 90 out. The grill could use a little attention. You just need lots of bug spray in the wooded area but that comes with up north.
We had a wonderful time at the Greenbush cottage. Just a little disappointed that the boat that was advertised is in fact no longer available. Also they have it listed as having a dishwasher yet there is no dishwasher. In the online advertising they show a large tv on site but it is actually a 15 inch tv. Other than that and the extreme high water levels (mother nature) it was a beautiful cabin, peaceful, spacious and we are very excited to return next year!!
