St Margaret’s Cottage is a charming period property in the picturesque rural village of Laxfield with parking, a sunny south facing garden, a private courtyard, and a 16th century Inn next door serving cask ales and delicious home cooked food.
Interiors have been sympathetically renovated to a high standard whilst retaining many original features, with beautiful beams and a handsome fireplace with wood burning stove, blending with luxurious furnishings and an interesting art collection. The
KITCHEN/DINING ROOM
You’re welcomed into the dining area of this sociable room with an opening into the kitchen and French doors taking you into the courtyard and stairs taking you to the first floor. In addition to the elegant mahogany dining table with four chairs there’s a comfy sofa, a bench and a coffee table stacked with brochures so you can plan visits to local attractions.
The stylish kitchen wraps around three sides housing a Bosch electric oven with four ring hob and extractor above, a Nespresso machine (remember to bring your own pods), a large fridge/freezer (five shelves in the fridge and three drawers in the freezer), a dishwasher, kettle and toaster.
LIVING ROOM
French doors to the garden and a wood burning stove in the fireplace make this gorgeous beamed room the ideal place for relaxing at any time of the year, with a TV for entertainment. Generous sofas, mirrors, an eclectic mix of artwork, occasional tables and quality tartan fabrics all add to the atmosphere of calm.
UTILITY ROOM/CLOAKROOM
An added bonus giving you additional storage space, a washing machine, a microwave, a sink and a separate toilet.

Wooden stairs climb to the first floor landing where you’ll find doors to the bedrooms on either side
SUITE ONE
The massive super king size bed takes pride of place between attractive bedside tables in this luxurious room and there’s ample space for your clothes with two wardrobes, a chest of drawers, and a dressing table. Guests can watch TV from the bed and a button back chair is ideally placed by the window for some quiet time.
EN-SUITE SHOWER ROOM
A lovely light shower room thanks to a sky light. The big shower cubicle has both a rain shower and a hand-wand; there’s a wash basin in the vanity unit with plenty of room for your toiletries, a WC, and a heated towel rail (bath and hand towels provided).
SUITE TWO
Wake to the birdsong in this elegant room with its king size bed against a tongue and groove backdrop with bedside tables on either side. There’s ample storage for you to unpack and settle in with a large wardrobe with hanging rail and shelving, a dressing table with a stool; a side table where the TV sits; and there are also a couple of chairs.
EN-SUITE SHOWER ROOM
This modern en-suite is fitted with both a rain shower and hand-wand in the double cubicle, a wash basin in a vanity unit, a WC, a heated towel rail and natural light.
OUTSIDE
This pretty holiday cottage sits on a corner with a sunny south facing garden bordered by a picket fence where you can relax with morning coffee and listen to the peel of church bells. For more substantial meals there's a secluded courtyard, conveniently off the dining room, furnished with a rattan table and chairs for outside dining. Two cars can be parked in the lay-by directly opposite the cottage.
One medium sized or two smaller dogs are welcome but please ensure that they stay downstairs, off furniture and please clean up after them in the garden.
