About this property

Ard View - large open plan accessible house sleeps 10

Blairmore Farm, is a five-star collection of holidays cottages converted from the farms 19th century stone steading. It is a 60 acre, working, rare breeds farm with Highland Cattle, sheep, rare breed pigs, Clydesdale and Shire horses as well

Ard View is a large open plan accessible house based in the heart of Blairmore Farm. This house is not only wheelchair accessible but as 5 very spacious ensuite bedrooms all with super-king beds that can be made twins should you wish. With one bedroom downstairs the glass lift provides full access to all 4 bedrooms upstairs. The cottage was converted from our 18th century stone steading in 2017, which has enabled us to mix the style and coziness of country living with modern amenities ensuring a luxurious group, family and/friends stay. The large open plan sitting, dining and living room is divided by a double-sided wood burning stove (logs are included in the rental) which provide a glow of heat during the winter months. During the summer the kitchen patio doors open out on the south facing patio with views out over the Strathearn Valley. The contemporary kitchen is designed with wheelchair use in mind with a height adjustable induction hob and sinks at two levels as well as an oven, microwave, American style fridge freezer with water and ice dispenser and a dishwasher. We have a number of additional services including our Farm Kitchen which provides ready to cook meals all made from our own farm produce where possible. The large monastery kitchen table seats 10 perfectly. The large area in the open plan living space has seating for 10-12 people. Ard View is the perfect house for larger groups and families, it is ideally located for both relaxing rural getaways or as a base to explore Perthshire and the Highlands of Scotland. A note from James and Ailsa - “We came to Blairmore back in 2013 after a long search to find the perfect forever home. We decided after we got married that we would like to live in the countryside, however, our jobs at the time wouldn’t allow for commuting and so we starting working on the idea of a lifestyle business, and boy did we find one. We quickly got to work with the assistance of architects, family and friends to develop a plan of renovation of our farm steading into 6 holiday cottages. Moving to Blairmore has created the perfect life for James and I and we can’t wait to share it with you.”

Why they chose this property

Blairmore Farm was purchased in 2013 as a huge project for Ailsa and James to build a forever home and business. The partially ruined steading buildings proved to be the most wonderful template on which to develop and build a self-catering / farming business. Maintaining the authenticity of the buildings with in the natural landscape where they had stood for over 200 years was paramount to James and Ailsa's plans.

What makes this property unique

We are a family run working livestock farm, we produce the gorgeous Farm Kitchen Meals primarily from the food that we produce. We love sharing our farm with our guests, socialising with them in our onsite Horsepower Bar (opened on request for the use of guests only). We are committed to developing a sustainable, 5 star luxury farm experience.
