A wonderful property, well maintained, everything and more than we expected. The host was very quick, attentive and wellcomingto respond to queries, Homely touches the host had thought of everything we might need. Thank you very much.
We booked to stay and visit the Xmas Market however storm Darragh put pay to that. So glad i booked this beautiful cottage rather than a hotel as it gave us sonewhere to chill. Gill has thought about everything making sure this really feels like a home from home from cosy throws to everything a kitchen could need. Sadly the weather meant we didnt really get chance to explore. All the more reason to come back.
Magical Cottage perfect for relaxing near Shakespeare attractions
Lovely home with plenty of seating areas for relaxing after a long day of touring. Walking distance to a cosy pub. Wonderful hot shower, comfy beds, charming, magical timbered cottage. Can’t wait to come back another time.

Excellent stay fantastic location just outside the town. Definitely in the spirit of the Tudor period is this thatched cottage with wood beams low ceilings and nothing even which was brilliant. Definitely worth staying if you like olde worlde cottages and surroundings. Will definitely be coming back and will recommend to everyone. A nice relaxing stay for my Birthday.
We are two friends who meet every year for a weekend in Stratford when we go to the theatre. We usually stay in a B and B but decided we would like the freedom of a Cottage. We were not disappointed as we were able to sit and enjoy gin and tonic in the garden before going out. We loved sitting looking out on the harden as we enjoyed a healthy breakfast. The cottage was very well equipped and apart from an extremely steep staircase was very comfortable. It took about 20 minutes to walk into Stratford and so we never needed the car. A thoroughly enjoyable break .

Absolutely charming cottage
After all the oohs and aahs as we explored the cottage, we went on to have a wonderful few days in this delightul cottage. It was just so beautiful.
Everthing was spotless, the beds comfy, the kitchen perfectly adequate for our stay and the living room accommodated the four of us with ease even though it wasn’t large. We visited the NEC for Crufts one day - this is only 30 minutes away by car. Stratford on Avon is a short drive and even within walking distance for keen walkers. Anne Hathaway’s cottage is just a short stroll down the road. Rocky the dog thoroughly enjoyed himself and there were lots of lovely touches which told us he was a welcome visitor not a nuisance and the garden is fully enclosed. As previously mentioned by others, the low beams are a bit of a challenge but all added to the fun, the stair way is steep so beware of that if at all infirm. We all agreed we would definitely stay again,
possibly for a bit longer as there is plenty to do in the area.

Beautiful restoration and renovation of this cottage
What an amazing surprise this cottage has been! The pictures don't do it justice. Totally authentic but absolutely modern. One neighbor had amazing pre-renovation pictures, putting to rest our companion's claim that this was newly created. Our stay was flawless and thoroughly enjoyed!

Great cottage, great location
We really enjoyed our stay at midsummer cottage, every need had been catered for and a lovely enclosed garden for our 2 dogs. Only a mile from Stratford town centre where you can get a nice meal and a drink in one of its many pubs. I would recommend a stay in this lovely cottage .

Great location away from the hustle and bustle
My husband and I had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay at the cottage in early September. The building is in a very pretty, historic village called Shottery... about a 25 minute walk into Stratford town centre. The cottage has all the comforts of home but I would offer one warning: The beams are VERY low and both of us hit our heads on them on a daily basis. Apart from that our stay was perfect.

Wonderfull authentic cottage experience
After living in Canada most of their lives, our children were impressed by being able to live and sleep in a house that is much older than the oldest building in Canada. The cottage is truly historic and authentic, but in an excellent and clean state, and with todays comfort of a fully equipped kitchen, wifi and bath. It is big enough for a family of four and a dog. The cottage is "dog-friendly" and the enclosed garden was a nice feature for our little friend.
For tall people; just watch your head, as the historic wooden beams are sometimes low!
The cottage is just a 5 minute walk from Anna Hathaway’s cottage.
The centre is about 30minutes walk, or a short drive with plenty of parking.
Our tip is to rent your own (motor)boat for an hour on the Avon with Avon Boating, and do your own cruise! Just need to be lucky with the weather.

About the host
Hosted by Jill Hackett
I have been holiday letting properties for some 9 years now and take pride in allowing guests to enjoy my properties and the history that goes with them. I particualrly love the Warwickshire area and Shakespeare so have much pleasure in renting Midsomer Cottage for holidays through out the year. I personally do all the renovations myself along with my husband and like to think we are keeping these beautiful old buildings alive , with the help of the holiday guests. I have nearly always worked with customers , and the public and like to think I can be responsive to any requests from customers. I hope that my guests appreciate the history and quirky nature of the property.
Why they chose this property
This property was my first holiday let after many years staying on the Hamlet for holidays ourselves. Once one came up for sale I knew immediately that it would be a delight to renovate where needed and then share with my guests. Its pefrctly situated for Stratford and the Theatre and historical buildings , the river and the surrounding countryside.
What makes this property unique
We offer flexible bookings all year, with much history preserved. We have a completely enclosed garden with a cottage style in keeping with the cottage style.Dogs are welcome and we have many repaet guests.
