Christmas in Chiang Mai

Our family gathered for our Christmas vacation in the beautiful Lanna Hill House. The peaceful, country setting with attentive staff ensured a lovely visit. I'd highly recommend adding some of the extras - airport pickup, chef prepared meals, and in-house massages. We’ll be back!

We are a family of four and live in Tunbridge Wells in the UK. I am the co-founder of a finance related business and my wife owns and runs a clinic. When the children were pre-school we spent 3 years in Thailand where my wife was born. A family friend of my wife, a famous Thai architect, designed the house, following our discovery of the land plot known locally as "The Hill of Angels". The house was finished in 2008 and we try and spend some time there every year.

Why they chose this property

When we discovered the land plot, we were determined to build our dream house there. The location looks over a reservoir, one of Thailand's highest mountains and the beautiful Mae-on valley. The design is sympathetic to local design, culture and the environment with extra thick walls to help keep the house cool.

What makes this property unique

Peaceful location in an area of Thailand that is unspoilt by tourism and over development. The house has been used in a large budget Hong Kong film, "Anita" and we have had the odd famour guest!
