About this property
Shore Cottage, Anstruther- stylish home by the sea
Shore Cottage is a charming Victorian detached home very close to the sea. With two bedrooms, two shower rooms and a bright open plan living room with dining kitchen it is a superb holiday home which also benefits from a private garden (with outdoor seating and barbecue) and driveway parking for two vehicles. It is located right on the Fife Coastal Path near to the beach, with Anstruther Golf course with fabulous sea views at the end of the quiet street.
The cottage is close to restaurants and shops, yet enjoys a quiet location as it is tucked away from the busiest part of town.
Shore Cottage is a very stylish home, retaining some original features like the stunning Highland Piper Cornice that greets you in the hallway, yet is superbly modernised with up to date shower rooms and kitchen facilities. Owned by an artist, there are plenty of stylish touches throughout including bold colours and original artwork which blend beautifully with the traditional features.
The ground floor has high ceilings and an airy spacious feel to the bright main living space, with light on three sides and French doors off the kitchen into the garden for outdoor dining. There is a shower room on the ground floor. Upstairs has more of a cottage feel with lower ceilings and dormer windows and houses a king bedroom and a twin bedroom with a shower room completing the accommodation. Shore Cottage prides itself in being a well appointed, proper ‘home from home’ with a well equipped kitchen and quality furnishings.
Shore Cottage is managed by local family business Pittenweem Properties and we will be on hand to assist where required.
Guests will be contacted with check in details etc ahead of your stay and a digital guest book provided to allow you to plan ahead and make the most of your stay
Immediately on the doorstep taking your morning coffee down to the sea, or an evening swim at Billowness Beach. Brunch in the Rockies Restaurant within the Golf Club, or dinner at the 18th Century Dreel Tavern, a few steps round the corner. The East Neuk has many music events, food festivals and the popular Pittenweem Arts Festival. No holiday would be complete without a visit to the Isle Of May to see the puffins or to the picturesque town of Elie. For the ‘Foodie’ visitor, Anstruther boasts the award winning Anstruther Fish Bar, and The Cellar, a Michelin Star restaurant. Pittenweem has The Dory Bistro and Gallery as well as a wonderful chocolate shop and café called the Cocoa Tree. In St Monans fine dining is offered by Craig Millar @16 West End and there is great fresh seafood from the East Pier. Ardross Farm Shop and the Bowhouse Market are definitely worth a visit too as is walking a few sections of the Fife Coastal Path.
St Andrews is not far for restaurants, everything from Cafés to Michelin star dining, independent shops, historic buildings not forgetting it’s famous Old Course.
Beautiful Crail Harbour, Kingsbarns Beach and its championship courses are a must too. Further afield, take a day trip to see the V&A in Dundee or over the Queensferry Bridge to see the sights of Edinburgh.
