I stayed here in June and it was 35 degrees. The apartment was comfortable with the shutters closed and then the airco. It is very spacious and close to the tramline that goes both to the airport and the city centre. It's also close to the university, which was very convenient. The host was fast in replying so I felt supported when I was there.
My 3 friends and I had a great trip to Grandma’s House. Gabriele made the check-in process very easy and even recommended fantastic local restaurants. It was very easy to get into the main part of the city by tram or bus. I would definitely recommend this property!
This flat is fairly comfortable and has lots of character. The host is very nice and responsive. The location is more remote than we had hoped, but we made it work using the nearby bus stops. Also, it is located next to a school, so it gets very noisy at 8:00 and again at 16:00. The beds and linens could be updated/improved. There are some inaccuracies on this listing: The distances listed for some of the tourist spots are farther than listed, there is not a hot tub (not even a working tub) nor an electric tea kettle, and the ottoman in the living room is no longer there. Overall, we did enjoy our stay.
I stayed here for two weeks with two of my classmates while visiting a photography school in Florence.
Upon arrival, the flat was very clean and orderly, and we were provided with everything that we needed. It is a very cosy place that feels much like a grandma's house.
The kitchen is also very functional, and we were able to cook for ourselves comfortably.
The surrounding area provides a welcoming break from the rush of tourists in the city center. There are a couple nice places to grab a coffee, get lunch or dinner, and two supermarkets all within 5 minutes walking distance.
There is also easy connection into the city, with both the T2 tram and 17 bus being within very close walking distance.
I can highly recommend grabbing some gelato at 'Gelateria SottoZero,' or an espresso and a sweet snack at 'Pasticceria Giulia.'
On the weekends there is a little market at Piazza Giacomo Puccini.
Gabriele is a gracious host, and is very easy to communicate with. She was available to answer any questions we had and was always friendly and helpful.
I can only recommend this place, and would happily stay there again when I visit Florence in the future.
There are shops and cafes and stores nearby- a cafe, fruit stand and meat and cheese shop across the street. It is located in a sweet Italian neighborhood with great access to the T1 Tram and a beautiful park which borders the Arno river a short walk away as well. Gabrielle, our host, was extremely helpful any time we had questions and really went out of his way for us at the end of our stay when we had trouble getting a taxi to the airport. We appreciated being close enough to the city center to use the tram but having a less hectic home space to come back to. If you are sensitive to noise just bring some earplugs as the street sometimes has quite a bit of activity.
