About this property
Somerleaze House - A Private Historic Estate with Heated Pool, in Somerset.
“THE SUPERCOOL COUNTRY HOUSE” - THE TIMES NEWSPAPER
Luxurious English country house. Somerleaze House beautifully blends Victorian architecture and a mountain limestone exterior with a modern, vibrant interior designed by Jo Berryman Studios. The house comfortably sleeps sixteen people.
It features on the cover of Jo’s first authored publication ‘Expressive Interiors’. The house is a cornucopia of design gems from the retro-futuristic leather sofas to the newly refurbished kitchen.
The mullion windows have original shutters and serve up panoramic views of the beautiful grounds and an arched ecclesiastical-style door opens onto the coolest state of the art gym with Red Light panel. We have also added a horse box sauna and cold plunge to our health and wellness protocols. Aside from being set within twelve acres of land, there are ancient trees, a private river, a walled garden, 5 aside football pitch and a heated swimming pool.
Somerleaze House is an ideal base for exploring Somerset and perfectly poised on the edge of Frome, one of Somerset’s most creative market towns, known for its independent shops, cafés, markets, and arts scene. Wild countryside walks on our doorstep, including routes towards the picturesque village of Mells and its riverside paths. Guests are within easy reach of some of the region’s best food: Bruton’s Michelin starred restaurants, cosy local pubs like The Talbot Inn, and the celebrated dining and gardens at The Newt. For day trips, Bath, Bristol, Wells, Glastonbury, Longleat, Cheddar Gorge, and Stourhead are all close by, with Stonehenge a mere 45 minutes away.
Our newest addition to the family is the Old Stables, a more diffused, rustic version of what we offer at Somerleaze House. There is elemental continuity through the use of stone, timber and earthen hued renders. Envision West Country ranch infused with cottage core. The Old Stables sleeps six, bringing the total number of bedrooms across the properties to ten. This will incur an additional charge of £650 a night but ideal if you are considering a larger family gathering alongside the main house.
There is no wheelchair access to upper levels or the main house but the self contained cottage is accessible with everything on one level.
Availability throughout 2026, with the heated walled-garden pool open for summer stays.
