About this property

The Admirals House - Central Bath & Free Parking!

Summary:

CURATED PROPERTY PRESENTS: The Admiral's House gives small groups a luxurious place to stay in the centre of Bath. The House is a splendid listed detached Georgian property in the centre of Bath. It was originally built to provide luxury accommodation for wealthy people seeking to take the waters.

The house has recently been restored to its former grandeur and offers country house style accommodation for 4-14 people in 5 twin and 2 double rooms.

The Space:

The Admiral's house can sleep up to 14 people, is elegantly dressed and can cater to a wide range of guest's needs. There are 5 twin and 2 double bedrooms spread across the 4 floors of the house. The dining table comfortably seats 10 guests and is suitable for large meals. Meals can be prepared in our 2 fully equipped kitchen areas. In keeping with the history of the property, one kitchen is located downstairs and the main kitchen on the 2nd floor. The house has a comfortable lounge area in addition to a quieter reading room/study. There are 3 bathrooms each with a shower.

There is a small patio area with benches. There are 2 off road parking spaces allocated to the house a short walk from the property. The parking spots are about a 3 minute walk from the property. There is access to offload heavy bags to the back entrance of the property which can be explained closer to your arrival.

Guest Access:

Guests will have sole access to the entirety of the house.

The Neighborhood:

If you're looking for the perfect setting that encompasses the look and feel of the City of Bath then the Admiral's House is perfect for you. The house is located 5 minutes from Bath High Street for shops, cafes, bars and excellent night life. The Roman Baths and Thermae Bath Spa is under 10 minutes walk away. Other sites are within walking distance including the Royal Crescent and Pulteney Bridge. There are guided walk tours, bus and boat tours available.

Getting Around:

Bath Spa is within walking distance from the house, once you are at the house a car is not needed if you are staying in the city centre. All shops, restaurants and bars that are in Bath City centre are within walking distance from the house. For those driving we have 2 off road parking spaces allocated to the house.

Other Things to Note:

The parking is offsite a short walk away.

There is a nursey just next door and should an emergency situation ever arise one of the emergency exits is via our home. This would only take place if there is a fire emergency so hopefully never happens but one thing for our guests to note.

The Aga is typically turned off during the warmer months. If you would like it turned on during this period, an additional charge will apply.

We partner with TRUVI to carry out secure guest ID verification, helping to ensure a safe and trusted stay for all parties. Once you have completed verification with TRUVI, your stay will be protected by Guest Guarantee and you'll benefit from an accidental damage cover.

Interaction with Guests:

We will be on hand throughout your stay to make it as enjoyable as possible for you :) You will be greeted on the day by a member of staff who will show you around!

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're delighted to hear you appreciated the property and its location! We’re sorry to learn that some areas were a bit chilly during your stay, we try to avoid this by allowing guests control over the thermostats, but this can sometimes be the case in Georgian houses. We look forward to welcoming you back soon!

Excellent stay

This is a brilliant property and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Though we had a few warm days during our stay, we were blessed with the front garden. Everyone in the group was impressed by the washrooms and showers. It’s clean and newly renovated. It’s a great location. The only issue is the WiFi. The signal wasn’t very strong and the higher the floor was, the weaker the wifi signal was. Nevertheless, we are so glad we could enjoy this property, especially the spaces for sitting down and enjoy some conversations. We are also grateful for the free parking space. The host was so easy to communicate. Answers were normally answered within half an hour. Thanks again for hosting us.

Thanks so much for your kind review Baiyu! We're really happy to hear you enjoyed the stay and made the most of the space! The Wi-Fi at the house is generally very strong, so we’ll definitely check if anything might’ve affected the signal during your visit. Thanks again for staying with us!

Admiral’s House

Looking a bit tired & neglected, it was nevertheless clean & tidy on the surface, & bedrooms & bathrooms were all in order except for one which smelled very damp. Kitchens could be better equipped for cooking, & we’re missing some quite basic things. Garden outside front was very overgrown and there was a pile of rubbish left in one corner. Needs love!

Thank you for your review Annie - off the back of this the house has just been renovated with new bathrooms and the whole front garden area has been redone!

While the house is very large, spacious, and historic, some of it seemed a bit worn. For example, the carpets on the first floor and stairs needed a good cleaning and/or to be replaced. The bathrooms and kitchens were very nice, but the rest of the house did not have as polished of an appearance as depicted in the pictures. Also, in terms of location, if you need to be dropped off/picked up, there really is not a great place right by the house that taxi drivers would consider. If you have a larger group, it's still a good option to consider, and we did enjoy our stay there. In addition, the communication with the host was great and the one question/issue we had was addressed very promptly.
