Maple Cottage is a really well looked after and very well situated cottage for anyone couple who want to have a deep, immersive time in Rydale or on the North Yorkshire coast. It is handy for Malton (the food markets), Helmsley (the chi-chi shops), Pickering (the castle and the NYM railway), and even York. Transport access is good to all these places. The cottage is really well appointed, with everything you might need, and is individually (eccentrically!) decorated - a charming bit of Tennessee in the North Riding. The amenities work well, and efficiently (plenty of hot water, good wifi, excellent TV). It *is* small, especially the upstairs, so don't expect to spread out in the bedroom or the shower stall - but the bed was comfortable and the water was hot, so what more can you expect! We had a lovely time, and enjoyed walking around Slingsby, and really appreciated how convenient the village was for so many other attractions
