About this property

Guard detached house of Château de Pannelier

The Château de Pannelier, built before the Revolution and renovated after a fire in the 19th century, houses the actual owners since 2003. During the World War II, the Germans built a launching ramp for V1 flying bombs in the domain as well as garages “en ski” to house the bombs (the remains are still visible and worth the visit). The castle used to house the Germans and later the Americans. It is built on a 27-acre wooded parkland with pond. We have 2 donkeys and a henhouse in the pastures of the castle.
The guard detached stone house has been fully renovated in 2013. It is carefully furnished (blond cherry wood furniture, 90x200 cm bed and flat screen satellite television) and boasts of an independent entrance with motorised gate and a private parking. The watchman lives in the other detached house.
The local blue stone terrace is equipped with garden furniture and barbecue and faces an old stone press room by a fitted pond.
The property is 10 km from Cherbourg, 7 km from Valognes (the Norman Versailles) and 20 km from Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue (famous for its oysters and its fishing harbour) and La Hague with its wild landscapes facing the ocean.
The RN 13 is directly accessible and Auchan shopping centre is 5 minutes by car.
1 km there is a horse riding centre available for your horse and a 18-hole golf course in the village of La Glacerie.

An historic getaway!

This property is quaint and convenient, located in the peace and solitude of the Normandy countryside. We had quick access to the N13 highway to stay connected to all of the events of the D-Day Anniversary yet situated for a peaceful escape into history. An outpouring of appreciation to our hosts for their hospitality, kindness and appreciation! Highly recommend this location!

Très beau gîte cosy avec sa dépendance extérieure privée complètement isolé de la magnifique demeure des propriétaires élément central du domaine très soigné . Parfait pour qui aime la campagne et la tranquillité. Rien ne manque et même si les soirées sont fraîches hors saisons le chauffage est très efficace assurant le confort . Il ne vous reste qu’à élaborer votre programme journalier les centres d’intérêt ne manquent pas en restant dans un périmètre très convenable . Merci pour cette belle découverte.

Ein wunderbarer Ort um weitere Besichtigungen in der Umgebung durchzuführen. Es eignet sich für 1-2 Personen und man ist sehr ungestört.

Très bien situé et charmant

Cette petite maison au calme est située à 30 mns de tout ce qui est à faire dans le Nord Cotentin , très belle région , Tout y est sauf le wifi qui ne fonctionne pas bien. Attention les deux chiens du château ne sont pas toujours très aimables si vous avez un chien . Quelques petits soucis logistiques à l’arrivée

Great place to stay

Lovely comfortable, well equipped gite. Set in beautiful, historic setting. Ideally suited to visit all the beaches, museums, d day sites and château. Dogs loved their walks in the woods. Sad to leave. Definitely recommend.

Un enchantement !

Nous avons été plus que ravis de notre séjour au château de Pannelier! Le pavillon de garde était très bien à tous points de vue, propreté et calme absolus, aucune fausse note pour les équipements! Le parc boisé immense offre des possibilités de promenades en pleine nature, on a même croisé un jeune chevreuil ! Tout a été à l'image de l'accueil des hôtes: charmant et agréable !

Excellent séjour

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans le magnifique domaine, chargé d'histoire, du château de Pannelier. Le gîte est un havre de paix, bien équipé et très coquet, il est très bien situé et permet de visiter facilement le Cotentin et de profiter des plages de la Hague. Nos hôtes très sympathiques, nous ont accueilli en toute confiance. Mais au fait, ne serait-ce pas Havane la maîtresse du lieu ? Chaque jour elle est venue nous saluer à notre retour d'excursion. Un tout grand merci pour ce séjour. Petit plus : si vous êtes adepte du Geocaching, sachez qu'il y a une cache près de la chapelle Sainte-Cécile attenante au domaine. Joëlle et Tito

Beau gîte

Le gîte est très bien équipé et est très calme. Il y a tout ce qu’il faut. Nous avons apprécié le grand lit. Le parc du château est magnifique. Nous avons eu souvent la compagnie d’Havane le chien. Elle est très gentille et venait nous rendre visite. Le gîte est proche de Cherbourg et il est très facile d’accéder à tout ce qu’il y a à faire dans le Cotentin. Nous n’avons pas eu la chance de rencontrer Catherine mais les échanges ont toujours été réactifs et sympathiques. C’est avec plaisir que nous reviendrons dans ce gîte.
