About this property
The Cottage, grade 2 listed with parking
“The Cottage” is a beautiful Grade II listed property located on one of the most historic streets in Cirencester, the capital of the Cotswolds. Perfect for a couple, or 4 friends, it’s brimming with character and finished in a modern style, with a courtyard garden and off road parking for one car. Original beams, log burning stove, Nest heating system, comfy sofas and a sunny enclosed garden make this the ideal cottage for a weekend away, whatever time of year.
The space
The open plan lounge is perfect for a relaxing night in after a day exploring, with sofas, smart TV, DVD player, Sonos speaker, books and games, exposed beams, and the original stone fireplace with log burner. The lounge opens directly onto the quiet street, and you can sit and watch the world go through the little window.
To the rear of the cottage, you will find the well-equipped kitchen, with electric oven, integrated microwave, gas hob, fridge, freezer, coffee machine, dishwasher, washing machine, and all the utensils you could ever need. A dining table and chairs are set within the kitchen where you can enjoy a wonderful supper with friends.
The kitchen has access directly into the enclosed private garden, which is a perfect spot to enjoy the sun while eating al fresco at the table and chairs.
Continuing inside the property, the hallway features a cloakroom with WC, and a staircase leading to the first floor, where you will find the first double bedroom with shuttered windows and clothes storage. Continuing on the first floor, there is a modern bathroom with underfloor heating, walk in shower and WC. To the rear of the property, is an office with a large arm chair and walk-in shower, perfect if you need to get away from it all for a few hours.
The second double bedroom is accessed via a low door and narrow spiral staircase off the first floor landing, and features built-in wardrobes and an original exposed beam. This is one of the cosiest rooms in the house!
Guest access
The Cottage is set up for self check in via a key safe and all details will be sent to you before your stay. The property has an off road parking space for one car at the rear and there are numerous roads nearby without parking restrictions. The nearest train station is Kemble, 4.5 miles away with direct trains to London (trains are approximately 1 hour 16 minutes).
The Cottage is a 7 minute walk to the centre of Cirencester (0.3 miles) and a 5 minute walk to the Barton Lane entrance to Cirencester Park (0.2 miles).
Cirencester is known as the Capital of the Cotsolds and features many beautiful winding streets, brimming with character and history. Black Jack street is a particular gem, with it’s artisan bakery, locally renowned butcher, and cafes (Keith’s coffee shop and Jack’s cafe can’t be missed!). If you fancy a dip, the spring fed open air pool is a 5 minute walk from The Cottage and is open from May to September. Alternatively, take a stroll through the 15,000 acres of Cirencester Park! The town also has a rich Roman history (it was the second largest town during this time) which you can learn about in the Corinium Museum.
From the town, you are also in the perfect position to explore the North or South Cotswolds, including Bibury, Bourton on the Water, the Slaughters, Tetbury and Painswick.
