About this property
Apple Cottage: 19th Century Charm in Calder Valley
Apple Cottage in the scenic village of Luddenden, is a charming two-bedroom 19th-century weavers' cottage, an ideal base for exploring the beautiful Calder Valley.
Perfect for those who love walking, cycling, or running, and for those seeking a tranquil retreat. Its picturesque setting is enhanced by the historic Lord Nelson Inn, once visited by Branwell Bronte.
Located under 4 miles from Hebden Bridge and a short 20-minute journey from Haworth, it offers a mix of adventure and serenity.
Our enchanting two-bedroom cottage, dating back to the mid-1800s, is nestled in the heart of the traditional Pennine village of Luddenden. This beautifully restored cottage is situated amidst Yorkshire’s awe-inspiring landscapes that have inspired writers, poets, and artists for centuries.
In the Calder Valley, a treasure trove of exploration awaits, from serene canal and riverside walks to the charming historical towns and villages of Yorkshire.
Apple Cottage, after your day’s explorations, welcomes you back to its traditional charm blended seamlessly with modern comforts and quality accommodation. The open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area invites you to relax by the traditional fire, enjoying modern amenities like Wi-Fi, Alexa, a smart TV with Netflix, and a selection of books and board games.
The contemporary kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need, including a fridge, freezer, fan oven, induction hob, microwave, washing machine, and more, along with a welcoming pack of tea, coffee, sugar, and milk.
Upstairs, find a master bedroom with a king-sized bed, high-quality mattress, and ample storage, along with a second bedroom featuring bunk beds. The bathroom boasts a spacious walk-in shower, complete with complimentary toiletries.
Outside, the terraced garden offers a raised deck for morning coffees or alfresco dining at sunset, and a quaint front terrace for basking in the evening sun. For those who enjoy cooking outside, a charcoal Weber BBQ is supplied for your use.
Enjoy the perfect blend of tradition and modernity at Apple Cottage, your home away from home.
Guest access
Apple Cottage comfortably accommodates up to 4 guests, who will enjoy exclusive access to both the cottage and its garden. For added convenience, there is off-road parking available in a private, designated space. Should you choose to use the solid fuel burner, we are pleased to provide an initial supply of fuel to get you started.
Other things to note
Apple Cottage is delighted to welcome well-behaved dogs. If you’re planning to bring your furry friend, please inform us in advance, and we’ll ensure a dog bed and bowls are ready for their comfort.
For guests with infants, we offer the convenience of a travel cot, highchair, and children’s crockery. Kindly let us know at the time of booking if these items will be needed.
Please note, for the comfort and safety of all our guests, smoking and the use of vaping/electronic cigarettes are not permitted anywhere on the property.
