Bramble Knowe is a spacious 1 bedroom self-catering accommodation that sleeps 3 and is situated in a peaceful location on a working farm in a wing of the owners’ house, and is a short 10 minute drive from St. Andrews. Access to the apartment is via its own separate entrance at the back of the property.
Spread out over the ground floor, a hallway has doors leading off it to the living room, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom which has both a king size bed and a single bed.
The apartment is situated in Dunino, a small village close to St. Andrews with its many shops and restaurants; the attractive fishing villages of the East Neuk and the many famous golf courses in the area. To visit these, we do recommend the use of a car. In the nearby churchyard, there is access to the picturesque Dunino Den which has been a site of worship since Druid times and where some interesting rock carvings can be found’.

First, the cottage was just perfect! Very clean. Nice, big kitchen complete with all the basics needed for cooking and a table for 4. Fridge was large enough for the two of us and had a small freezer compartment. Large entry area which was perfect for storing golf clubs. Bedroom was large and had a queen bed, twin bed, and wardrobe. Lounge was also very big and comfortable. Bathroom was spacious with tub/shower. Excellent water pressure and quick to get hot water. It was easy to find the cottage with the directions provided and the sat-nav. You can park just in front of the door at the back. Very quiet, rural area just a 5 min drive from two large grocery stores and maybe 8 minutes to St Andrews proper. We did have a small problem with the heating. We arrived on a very cold night and the cottage was not heated. The entry way thermometer showed 55F/12C. After unloading and thoroughly searching the house and info sheet for a thermostat, we contacted the agency. For future guests... it's conveniently located behind the microwave in the kitchen. Now, I'd probably put that info on the Welcome Sheet - just saying. We quite nearly left, but fortunately Short Stays UK was very quick to respond and it was all sorted out, so I'm not going to take a star for that. Also, it seems that the heating will only work if the farmhouse has it on - so we did have one chilly night when the radiators had gone cold. Laundry facilities were perfect. Would stay here again!
