Loved the cottage, very homey and comfortable for me and my daughter and her husband and two girls, ages 2 and 4, and their dog! Owners were friendly and helpful and the beach area was perfect for swimming and docking the small boat we brought. I would absolutely recommend this spot!
I spent a week at this property with my friends and family, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time. The cabins are quaint and rustic with nothing fancy but just the right amount of space. We spent most of our time at the lake, with the extremely friendly and accommodating owners of the property. The porch in the Brown Camp cabin, where we stayed, is perfect for meals and makes cool evenings and rainy days enjoyable. The property is adorable, with 3 docks and a floating raft, plenty of canoes and kayaks to use as we pleased, and floats and toys for the kids to use on the beach and in the water. There's a cute country store 5 min down the road if you need supplies. If you're looking for a comfortable, cabin vacation next to a quiet lake where you can kick back and relax and forget about the real world, this is your place. We definitely plan to return as often as we can.
Our stay in the “Brown Camp” was everything that we could have wanted!More than adequate space for 4 adults, 3 children aged 2-7, and 2 large dogs!I personally enjoyed the screened in porch so much and claimed my spot in a comfy wicker chair where the breeze was cool and comfortable, and perfect for reading a good book! Our hosts were very friendly and super easy to communicate with, even inviting our family to the lake to share a fire and smores with them! Darcy put in a request for good weather for our stay and we had beautiful weather with only 1 rain day!We had a great time and really hope to visit again in the near future!!!
My husband, myself along with my sister and brother-in-law stayed a week in September in the Villa. The property was gorgeous, weather was fabulous and Sue and Art were the perfect hosts. It was one of the most relaxing weeks we’ve had in a very long time and are thankful for the time we spent enjoying the property and Everything the camp had to offer!
This place is a little slice of heaven. The cabin was absolutely perfect- It was rustic, with plenty of space, comfortable beds, and everything you need to make delicious meals! The beach front is absolutely beautiful, the best spot on the lake, with a sandy beach, three piers, a dock to swim out to, and every kind of water toy you can imagine! My family had a blast canoeing, kayaking fishing, swimming, and enjoying a week of lake life! We will definitely be renting here in future years! Thanks to Sue and Art for being such awesome hosts, they were attentive, but not overbearing! I already miss the view, and the sunsets over the lake!

These folks were so much fun to have around. Our Grandkids loved their kids in spite of the age differences (3-11) and Stacy spent a lot of time doing craft projects and "visiting" with our Grands. They are fun to visit with and watch them enjoying Crystal Acres. I do hope they come back.
Was exactly what I expected with pics and description.owners were super friendly and helpful when necessary but never overbearing,as they live on the property.well water was super nice! Also VERY welcoming and accommodating with our two dogs.the free use of canoes and kayaks was sweet. What really stunk was the weather.we only had one beach day,if they could have controlled the weather it would have been an outstanding week!! Than you all for a relaxing vacation

About the host
Hosted by Darcy Cloutman
Our family has owned this property for 5 generations, since 1898! We all grew up here in the summers, and two generations have retired here (so far!). We are passionate about preserving it's old-timey feel and and relaxed family atmosphere.
Why they chose this property
This is a very unique spot with lots of history and of stories which we are happy to share with you as you sit on the pier dangling your feet enjoying the sun. It has the best view of the Belknap Mountain Range and one of the only naturally sandy beaches! The drop off is gradual and therefore wonderful for kids (of all ages!). We grew up spending hours playing in the water, and love watching our kids/grandchildren do the same. Many of our guests have become friends, and we love sharing this very special place with them (some for generations!).
What makes this property unique
Crystal Acres has all the benefits of a resort vacation without the big resort. Parents often tell us it's the most relaxing vacation they've ever had because there is so much for the kids to do without having to leave the place. When you are tired of the beach and swimming there's always shuffleboard, a large yard (feel free to bring lawn games), and flashlight tag. We have 3 kayaks, 1 child-sized kayak, a row boat, a paddle boat, and 2 canoes. We provide life preservers. In the evening, bring your fishing rod or make s'mores by the fire pit while stargazing.
