Charming Casa Montecito, Newly Renovated in Peaceful Mission Hills

This upstairs unit has a sunny living room with a 65" smart TV with Apple TV, and lots of games to enjoy with family and friends. The dining area can seat 8 comfortably. In the kitchen every convenience is at your fingertips; Kitchen-Aid range, convection microwave, Bosch dishwasher, and a Kitchen-Aid full size refrigerator with filtered water and ice-maker.
The king bedroom features a Casper mattress and the 2nd bedroom is a queen mattress.
In addition to the king and queen beds there is a self-inflating queen air mattress and a twin cot that can be set up in the family room. Linens are a high thread count with fluffy down/alternative comforters.
One bath has a shower and tub, the second has a walk in shower. A new, full-size, stackable washer and dryer are in the home.
Outdoor spaces are important to take in our perfect, year round San Diego weather. There are two patios, one with table and chairs and a Weber charcoal grill, the other with fire-pit and Adirondack chairs. Two balconies off the living room are a great spot to watch the hummingbirds and green parrots that live in our neighborhood.

Gorgeous property and quiet neighborhood. All new inside and immaculately clean and charming. Briefly met the owner who took time to meet our family and congratulate our grandson on his Marine boot camp graduation. Not sure if it was outlined in the property description and might be my error but the property is upstairs on the 2nd floor. Not an issue for us but if someone has mobility issues it might be worth noting. This place was far better than any hotel I could’ve booked.

Beautiful neighborhood andthe house is gorgeous ! The kitchen was well stocked, had everything we needed. restaurant, shopping and sightseeing are nearby. owners were easy to work with. Beds were comfortable. Definitely would recommend and would love to go back.

Beautiful home in Montecito

Bob & Melindas home was one of the most beautiful VRBO’s we have ever stayed in. It was even more beautiful than the photos. We had all the amenities we needed, the beds were very comfortable and the place was immaculately kept. We would most definitely stay here again in the future.

Awesome experience

Casa Montecito was a great place to stay. Centrally located to San Diego attractions like the Zoo, Sea World and the beach!! The unit is very well appointed and we loved staying there. Additionally, Bob and Melinda were very responsive and really nice as well! We hope to stay at there again some time!

Spacious Comfortable and Quiet

We really enjoyed our Labor Day weekend here. This place has all the amenities you would need for a fun and relaxing weekend with family. Our hosts Bob and Melinda were very responsive. We will definitely be back!

Our stay was great. The residence was very welcoming at a great location to everything. The house and neighborhood was very nice and beautiful. It comes with everything and more needed for a great stay. We really enjoyed our visit. We wish we had more time there. I would stay again next time in San Diego.

Your home is beautifully kept and decorated and we loved this historical property. Everything we needed and perfect location to get to everyplace we wanted. The neighborhood has a great coffee place and market within walking distance and feels very safe. Bob and Melinda provided a very comfortable stay. Would love to visit again.

Casa Montecito

Beautifully presented residence located in desirable neighborhood. Well positioned for easy access to most areas of town. Very pleasant owner. This is a duplex unit with a flight of stairs to reach interior. Considering its location in a congested neighborhood it is extremely quiet- day and night.

Best place in San Diego

We absolutely love this property. This is our second visit and it will always be our first choice when visiting San Diego. The property is beautiful, well designed for two couple or a family, and the patios are a great place for visiting and enjoying the SD sunshine. Bob and Melinda have taken care of every detail. All you have to do is enjoy!!

Amazing home in a beautiful neighborhood

Very clean modern and comfortable home with every necessity and appliance needed. I say “home” because it felt just as cozy as if it were your own. It’s obvious that a lot of love care and attention has gone into every detail to make you feel welcome and comfortable. I would DEFINITELY recommend and we look forward to another stay!

Beautiful accommodation in an awesome location!

This lovely spot, ensconced in an historic Mission Hills neighborhood, is renovated to perfection. An open floor plan with gorgeous wood floors, a clean kitchen with all the amenities, convenient bathrooms and laundry and three balconies with great views. The decor featured original artwork from around the world, fine antiques and comfy furniture. Our hosts Bob and Melinda were gracious and considerate. We were within 10 minutes from Balboa Park, Old Town, Hillcrest, the Zoo, downtown and there was always a parking spot right out front when we returned home after a long day! We will definitely return next time we come to San Diego.

Excellent Home and Ideally Located to Enjoy San Diego

Our family spent the Labor Day holiday at Casa Montecito and it was fantastic! Bob and Melinda were wonderful hosts and were available when we had questions. The house was spotless and all new. The location is in a quiet neighborhood but so close to the beach and the zoo. We sat on the front porch every morning and evening and the locals said hello and chatted with us. There is a great coffee cafe one block away called Kettle and Stone and they had fresh pastries every morning. Also the wine bar across the street from the coffee cafe welcomed us to the neighborhood. The kitchen has a big island and a professional chef’s range. The master bedroom has a large en suite bathroom, luxurious shower and walk-in closet. The toiletries they left us to use were top notch. Beautiful tile work. Also they left us a great guide with suggestions for restaurants and attractions. Can’t say enough good things….we have stayed in a lot of vacation rentals, but this was by far the best one yet! We are booking again next summer.

Robert’s home was absolutely beautiful. It was exactly what we needed. The bathrooms were nicely updated. The oversized tub was awesome for our kids. If you do have small children, it is on the second floor. There is a large staircase with a wide opening. We put suitcases in front of it in the middle of the night as we had our kids stay in the bedroom next to the stairs. It was not a problem, but our kids are very good with stairs (just an FYI). The kitchen was nicely updated & had everything we needed. The home was super clean and tidy. Plenty of parking. The air conditioning works super well. More than enough extra blankets and pillows, cozy couches, the pack n play provided saves us money and time, it was super convenient to have it there already. We will definitely look to rent this place next time we’re in San Diego.

San Diego 2025

The unit takes up the entire second floor of a beautifully renovated historic home. Furnishings are excellent. The bed in the master bedroom is really comfortable, and with cross breezes no a/c is needed. The Mission Hills neighborhood is very quiet, yet centrally located to everything San Diego has to offer. Although the unit is in a residential area, it is within walking distance to several shops, restaurants, etc. The host is very nice and made us feel warmly welcomed.

Why they chose this property

Casa Montecito is a historic home built in 1913. In 1923 it was converted into a duplex with upper and lower units. We reside in the downstairs unit. Mission Hills is a special place. A quiet, residential, walkable and safe neighborhood. We are sure you will enjoy it!
