About this property
Kinkell Cottage, a true hidden gem with views to die for!
Kinkell cottage is quite simply, perfect. A special, romantic one bed cottage that holds so much character and charm, guests never want to leave. The property sits at the foot of Kinkell Castle, an enchanting building that has been lovingly restored, making it a view in itself to enjoy while sipping on your morning cuppa from the front of the cottage. While the castle is close, it's un-intrusive and the cottage feels incredibly private.
A stones throw from Dingwall and Conon Bridge, the traditional Scottish cottage sleeps 2 comfortably with bags of space to make yourself at home. It homes 2 bathrooms, (one shower room and one roll top bath with views over the garden pond), a king sized bed and cosy, comfortable sitting room. The best part of the house? The new glass extension that looks directly over Ben Wyvis (on a clear day) and sleepy village of Conon Bridge. The kitchen is fresh, smart and impeccably clean with all the amenities you could possibly need, including a Nespresso machine, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave.
The property is home to some amazing pieces of artwork, all produced by family and previous owner, Gerald Laing. Gerald was an iconic face of the Pop Art era, alongside Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and James Rosenquist. His work is still exhibited and enjoyed worldwide and we're delighted to be able to share a handful of his trademark pieces in Kinkell Cottage. Our guests love exploring the artistic talent and sculptures that can be found scattered around the home and garden.
Cosy up by the fire in the Winter evenings, or enjoy sundowners on a Summer night while sitting outside overlooking the valley. There's always something to enjoy at Kinkell cottage, no matter the time of year.
You will have your own private entrance and driveway to Kinkell cottage and can park right at the door. The owners are nearby if needed in the main castle but won't intrude on your space. Small, well behaved dogs welcome on request. Please get in touch before booking to discuss.
Due to the situation of the cottage (next to a large pond), it's not suitable for small children, however babes in arms are welcome!
