About the host

Hi.
Estepona is a fun but laidback city & I chose to live here not just for the 300 days of sun per year but also the mountains for cycling- the photo of myself with ebike, that is just short walk away to top of hill on which the apartments are built. You can get 360 degrees sunset view up there! Plus we have great cycling routes along the coast and into the hills.
I live in this apartment over the winter and so it's a fully equipped home with everything even a cordon bleu chef might desire. I travel lots for work and I wanted to make sure, this apartment suits not just tourists but also a longer stay digital nomad like myself too- so it has a designated desktop computer space too.
I may like travelling but the hardest thing about travelling can be not being able to get a good night's sleep. I chose this home as it's so quiet to sleep and it is usually tranquil, when sitting out on the terrace too.
I won't be the person meeting and greeting you- as I run a walking and cycling guided tours company in Oxford, the Cotswolds and Bath, England. So it will be my estate agent, Carlos who will meet and greet you. He speaks fluent French, English and Spanish. When you book, I will send you his contact details.
Have a fun holiday and my tips for best places locally includes:
Playa Cristo for the kids to swim shall water bay, short walk away.
Galeria Huber or Pena Flamenca for live music weekends in Old Town.
La Escollera and El Cazador at the port for amazing food.
Eco and bike run by bilingual staff on Calle Malaga near Calle Teraza for bike or ebike hire.
If you want to book a guided walking tour, let Carlos know as he can also give you number for some local bilingual guides.
If you love to watch the sunsets over the sea, I recommend the bars at the far end of the seafront near Carrefour, such as La Buena vida bar or Sunset beach bar. The latter is run by really hospitable Jordan & Mikael from Cuba.
Sincerely,
Alasdair

Why they chose this property
I wanted to live in a smaller Spanish town and not just in a holiday resort. The climate and proximity to nature here, is hard to beat.
What makes this property unique
Sadly, it was supposed to have a sea view but it's a very limited sea view. So I decided to give the garden and terrace, something different you can also enjoy which few homes here have- a real gem of a garden with flowers and plants.
