About this property
Porthmeor Beachfront Apartment With Stunning Views
11 Barnaloft is a beachfront apartment with parking in an onsite garage. Located on Porthmeor, the infamous home of St Ives surfing and Tate St Ives.
Being on the cusp of this beach means you'll be just a few steps from front door to the sand and better still the views from your living room, balcony and master bedroom are completely uninterrupted.
The heart of St Ives is a short stroll away, within easy reach you'll have pubs, galleries, bakeries, shops, restaurants and so on.
Enter 11 Barnaloft via it's own private set of steps leading to the front door from the rear courtyard.
It's from this same courtyard there is an access door for residents to the beach (this may not always be available depending on sand movement - we are at the will of the Atlantic!).
Inside 11 Barnaloft you will find a fully equipped kitchen with oven, microwave, hob, dishwasher, washer-dryer, and plenty of crockery, glassware and utensils.
The living and dining area face directly out to sea, there are two large comfortable sofas, Smart TV and fibre broadband. The dining area seats four.
From here you can access your own private balcony overlooking Porthmeor beach. It has a table and chairs so you can sit back and take in the views (and did we mention the sunsets?).
The master bedroom has a king size bed and also has superb beach views across the balcony to Porthmeor, Man's Head, The Island and the wild Atlantic beyond. There is plenty of storage in here. It also enjoys the recent addition of an ensuite with shower and WC.
The twin bedroom is to the rear, it also has storage and two single beds.
The bathroom has a heated towel rail, bath with overhead shower, basin and WC.
Nearby you'll find plenty of amenities. One of the handiest is the wonderful Norway Stores a minutes walk away, small but extremely well stocked with lovely owners.
St Ives Bakery is a short meander through the side streets and The Sloop Inn is a 3 minute walk away.
There are several other beaches to find in easy walking distance including Porthgwidden, Porthminster and the harbour.
The garage can be used for parking a vehicle. The dimensions are 187cm high, 240cm wide and 460cm deep.
All of the apartment besides a few locked cupboards.
We're a small team that live locally and know the town, area and these apartments well. We use a self service check-in but we do like to help our guests so we're here for recommendations, advice and to help.
We might be pottering in the area so you might see us too and we may say hello if we're passing.
St Ives is a very special community and after a visit here you'll find it no surprise that it's been voted the happiest place to live. The whole town is beautiful and surrounded by crystal clear water, yet there is something very special about the Downalong area where Barnaloft is.
I've worked in this part of town for over ten years and have lost count of the number of sunsets that have blown my mind away, the small community in this part is also very caring.
With many great places to shop, eat, drink and chill we recommend exploring on foot. A few names to drop though, St Ives Surf School, Porthmeor Beach Cafe, Yallah Coffee, St Ives Bakery, West Beach and of course the essential Norway Stores.
As you are well located near the heart of town most amenities are very nearby. The bus and train station are a 10 minute walk away.
The Island public pay car Park is often busy but is only a 4 minute walk away.
Please be mindful of your neighbours with noise.
No parking in the rear courtyard besides loading/unloading
