The host was very fair and accommodating regarding complications with use of the pool facilities. We loved the property and are seeking a renewal for 2027.
We did not require pool usage. The property was just what we hoped it would be and our experience was just great. Paul and Christina were very easy to deal with.
Thanks again for another great stay. The time went so quick, Paul is a great host and easily contactable if there are any issues. Look forward to a return visit.
The casita is very comfortable and equipped with everything we could want. We especially enjoyed: morning coffee on the patio watching sunrise on the mountains; walking on the nearby paths and trails; swimming laps at the pool. Owners Paul and Cristina are great to work with: very responsive and accommodating.

Thank you, John! We look forward to seeing you again.
We so enjoyed our time in the Mountain View Casita. Plenty of room for the four of us, very short walk to pool and 13 minute drive to our Wildcat. Quiet and serene setting in Starr Pass. We hope to stay again!
Lovely location. The unit is quiet and peaceful , with a beautiful view. This condo met all our needs for access to the local trails and Tucson. We absolutely love Starr Pass Golf Suites and this one was clean and well stocked. I would definitely stay here again.
We loved staying in this unit. The owner was very helpful and I enjoyed our interactions. The location can't be beat (I loved being able to take a short walk to the trailhead leading onto the Tuscan Mountain Park! The living room furniture and kitchen area feel slightly worn but overall the unit was quite clean and functional. We enjoyed sitting on the patio facing a lovely cactus garden.
Paul and Cristina have made such a lovely place available to their guests in the Starr Pass location. Their spacious and very clean casita with its lovely view is decorated nicely, and every amenity has been offered to enhance one's stay. We loved the proximity to downtown Tucson (10 -15 minutes' drive), with its many good restaurants and cultural events. We also loved the pool and the golf course, just steps from the casita, and the less than half-hour drive to the Saguaro National Park. We will plan a return for the 2021 season and hope to stay longer than a week. Thank you, Paul and Cristina, for making every aspect of our stay easy and satisfying.
Our family of four greatly enjoyed our stay here. Beds are comfortable, kitchen is well equipped, and there was plenty of space to hang out in the living room. We had fun in the pool and hot tub at the nearby clubhouse. Communication with the owner was prompt and cordial. We recommend without reservation !
The only thing I would note is that the condo seemed to be near the flight path to the airport and Air Force base, so you can frequently hear airplanes and helicopters overhead. Light sleepers might want to use ear plugs. My husband did, and he was fine.

2/10 Terrible

Disliked: Communication, listing accuracy
Beware: Unreasonable Charges and Poor Communication
We had a terrible experience during our stay. The owner charged us $200 for the TV being unplugged, which we find completely unreasonable. We believe that simply plugging the TV back in should not result in a charge, especially considering that it was not damaged in any way. What would the owner have done if we had accidentally unplugged a lamp?
Furthermore, we found that there was a lack of communication from the owner, which made our stay even more frustrating. The fixtures in the rental were old and in need of updating, and we encountered several other issues that made our stay uncomfortable. There was leftover food in the refrigerator and someone's old gelato in the freezer. The grill did not have a propane tank, rendering it unusable, and the instructions for the WiFi were incorrect.
It's crazy because we even started a load of towels and the dishwasher as well as took out all the trash to make things easier for the owner, but I suppose that didn't matter.
We would not recommend this vacation rental to anyone based on our experience. The lack of communication from the owner and the poor condition of the rental make for a subpar vacation experience. We urge potential guests to consider alternative options when looking for vacation rentals in the area.
We hope that the owner will take our feedback seriously and make necessary improvements to ensure a better experience for future guests.

Your experience is indeed an anomaly, as you can see from other reviews. I regret the lack of communication, which could have been easily corrected, had you reached out to us with your concerns.
We encourage you and all of our guests to be interactive with us and we will work to make the experience at our place as nice as possible.
As for the charge of $200 for the "TV being unplugged", as you know the problem you created was far more complex and required a technician to repair the damage.
Nonetheless, it does appear that our casita was not a good match for your expectations. We hope to have guests who are here to enjoy the amenities we offer, the quiet, and the beautiful natural setting that our place can provide. For entertaining large groups, I suggest that you find other alternatives in the future.
We wish you the best!
Exactly as advertised and perfect for us. Everything we needed.
Nice community. Hiking nearby. Owner was super helpful and made additional effort for resort pass when clubhouse pool was not open.
This casita is very well maintained, the owners Paul and Christina were wonderful to work with. They were very flexible about date changes because of Covid. I recommend this property to anyone looking for a Tucson escape.
We really enjoyed our stay. The unit needs a little update but is cozy and comfortable. The location is amazing. We were within walking distance of the golf club, fitness center, pool, 2 restaurants, hiking trails. Also a great place for biking on trails. Loved the wood burning fireplace and the view at night.
My father stayed at the casita for a week in August during a relaxing Tucson getaway. He enjoyed breakfast on the patio each morning watching families of quail. This was the perfect spot for a quiet, comfortable vacation with privacy, incredible views, and access to golf, numerous hikes, and nearby to downtown. A truly relaxing vacation spot!
This is a very nice casita. It was as described. Everything worked. The owner is very responsive. The master bed is very comfortable. The casita is well stocked with linens, spices and cleaning supplies. It is close to the pool area, golf course, and walking paths. There is a very good BBQ restaurant at the golf course. Supermarkets are an easy drive to get to. It has a great view, very relaxing. We enjoyed watching the various birds, and roadrunners, that came by. We will definitely stay here again.
Comfortable and well situation casita for mountain biking, bird watching family
Very suitable for us travelling with our grown son. Two bathrooms were great! The location close to mountain biking trails made our family holiday a success. As birders/naturalists we appreciated the natural surroundings, the proximity to the saguaro 'forest' and the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. Supplies like condiments and spices in the kitchen were helpful. The information about local wildlife was also useful. Photos on-line gave an accurate assessment of the space so no rude surprises when we arrive. A usable fireplace too! We passed on some suggestions about improvements (ie. better lighting) to the owners and they were graciously accepted. Nearby affordable restaurant and pool were great.
We had stayed in similar property in same area managed by Wyndham earlier in year. The good condition, location and extra touches to Paul's property were much improved as compared to the Wyndham property. We enjoyed staying there and will definetly stay again on our many planned visits to Tucson.

Great stay, excellent amenities.
Situated on a golf complex, a stones throw from the pool and golf clubhouse. This property has all the mod cons you need. Very clean and well kept. Very close to supermarkets and local attractions along with hiking trails nearby.
Will definitely return again and will want to stay here.

She was a student of film at School of Visual Arts in NYC and has a master's degree in archaeology. After practicing archaeology in Arizona, she now has a new career as a behavioral health therapist. Paul is an engineering professor who most recently has worked with nations in Africa and central Asia on water management projects.
Why they chose this property
We love the Starr Pass area in Tucson. These golf casitas could not be more convenient for access to the golf course. But what we like the most are the trails right outside of our door in the Tucson Mountains. This area has great city views and we can be downtown in fifteen minutes. It is a safe, quiet area and we enjoy early morning and late evening walks along the golf course.
What makes this property unique
The JW Marriot resort is nearby and has excellent spa facilities and restaurants. There is a shuttle from the golf clubhouse for transportation to the resort, however even without reservations, the shuttle seems to pass by every ten or twenty minutes.
