Dionis 4BR house w/ 2BR cottage, pool, water views, 2 acres and very private

A perfect vacation destination, "Rosebud" is located in the high-end Dionis neighborhood of Nantucket Island, within walking distance to Dionis Beach and only a few miles from town. Set back on a winding shell-covered driveway, and perched on a hill, Rosebud offers privacy and sweeping views of the Nantucket Sound and the Moors.

The property was newly renovated and updated for the 2019 season with new bathrooms, AC, and furniture throughout the house and cottage. Natural light pours in from all sides on an open first floor, providing wonderful entertaining space. The first floor includes a large gourmet kitchen with an extended island. The living room is flooded with sunlight and a view to the Sound. There is a full bath and bedroom with Queen bed on the first floor.

The focal point of the main house is an architectural masterpiece cherry staircase handcrafted by Nantucket artist Stephen Swift. Ascend the stairs to the great room with windows on three sides and clear views to the water. Enjoy a cocktail to watch the gorgeous sunsets over Dionis while sitting in the Adirondack chairs on the upstairs porch. Sink into the designer couch by Restoration Hardware while watching a movie on the 65" tv. The second floor also offers three bedrooms upstairs including a master with king bed and walk-in closet, another large bedroom with a king bed, and a bedroom with two twin beds.

In the backyard, there is extensive landscaping including beautiful and mature hydrangeas, Rose of Sharon, and annual flowers throughout. A flagstone walk leads to a large poolside patio with seating for six and four additional chaise lounge chairs. The brick patio surrounds a 55 foot lap pool that is ideal for kids as well as exercise. The main porch of the house has a gas grill and table seating for eight.

The cottage was completely renovated in 2017 and offers a generous master bedroom and a children's bedroom with two bunk beds. You'll want to spend all of your time in the open upstairs with windows on four walls, a modern kitchen, and sleek artwork.

The walk to Dionis beach is only 10 minutes on the bike path down Eel Point Road. Ride your bikes to town, which is less than 3 miles and on the bike path.

Perfect Home, Even Better Host

This home is stunning, well taken care of, and extremely clean. We've stayed in many different homes on Nantucket over the years and this one was by far the best. Not only was the house gorgeous, the host called ahead of time to make sure we had the perfect visit and was extremely generous with his home. We hope to be able to stay again!

Rosebud

Perfect place to stay with a large group

We had 10 people stay at Rosebud for the weekend, and we had a great time! The house was incredible- very spacious, beautiful decor, clean bathrooms, impeccable landscaping, ocean view, good sized pool. It was perfectly Nantucket - Chad would approve! My favorite parts were sitting by the pool at night and looking up at the clear starry sky, watching the fog roll in off the ocean during sunrise, walking to town along the bike route and spending the afternoon at a quiet beach nearby. Can’t wait to go back!

Perfection!

Rosebud was the perfect location to celebrate my dads 70th birthday with family. The house and cottage were immaculate, the pool was the perfect temperature and a highlight for the kids, and the grounds were absolutely gorgeous. Mike was quick to help with last minute questions, and even called me promptly when he was informed that a purse was left on the property. It was truly a trip we will never forget. Thanks, Mike!

Rosebud is amazing

Our family (6 adults and 4 children) stayed at Rosebud in late July. We were celebrating my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary. Rosebud was the perfect house! Close enough to town to travel easily by bike but far enough away to enjoy some peace and quiet. The house is gorgeous, spacious and a perfect set up for families. We enjoyed every second! Mike was extremely accommodating and answered our every question, even providing numerous great recommendations. Thank you!

We enjoyed every minute - if any remarks, it might only be that the pool filters needed cleaning and there were some stray frogs and mice who’d fallen in - we removed them and hoped the chemicals were doing their job. We loved our stay and would love to return! The house is very well appointed, most comfortable, perfectly located - a great family long weekend❗️The cleaners did come an hour and a half early on Sunday - but they waited as we gathered our belongings. Absolutely wonderful!

Dionis has always been our favorite area of the island for several reasons… - It’s close to town, by bike or car, but feels quiet and uncrowded - there’s a nicely stocked Stop-N-Shop, with long hours, very close by - Dionis beach, which is quiet and always feels like a private beach, is walkable from many of the homes in Dionis. We were glad to have found this wonderful home in Dionis! It’s location within Dionis was great, too. It’s tucked back in, away from the road and feels very private and peaceful. It’s so well hidden that my husband and I both missed the driveway entrance a couple of times. (We also saw several deer in the drive.) While there wasn’t as much “usable” land as we had hoped, for flying kites and the like, we did have plenty of space to set up a badminton net in the back yard. It was very enjoyable to sit on the porch or balcony, after dinner, and watch the kids pass the shuttlecock back and forth. Overall, our family of five (2 adults, 2 high school aged teens and 1 middle schoolers) had a fantastic time! We had plenty of extra room (an entire house, in fact) since the rest our party came down with the flu and couldn’t join us. Both houses are beautiful - even more beautiful than the photos in the listing, as it appears that the homeowners are continually updating the property. They owners have also nicely outfitted every aspect of the home. The kitchen and bar area are well stocked with cooking and serving items, along with all of the little pantry whatnots one never thinks to bring along. In the baths and bedrooms, they’ve provide fluffy white towels, crisp cotton linens and lovely Molton and Brown shower gels and soaps. For indoor entertainments, they have a good selection of card and board games and, although we didn’t have a need for them, I also noticed a few items to keep a baby/toddler entertained, as well. When we wanted to go to the beach, there was no shortage of beach towels and chairs. Speaking of, I should also mention that when returning from the beach, the outdoor showers (and all of the gorgeous flowers and greenery surrounding them) are to die for - absolutely beautiful! They look like something out of a home and garden magazine. Most importantly, the home was impeccably clean. We had a great week and look forward to, hopefully, renting here again.

Great Family House in a Great Location

We had a great experience at this house in the early fall this year. The house is plenty big and well equipped to fit a whole family - complete with two young ones. Mike was super easy to connect with and very helpful. And the location is prime - plenty of privacy and space with views of the ocean. Hope we will be back in the future.

Absolutely wonderful

The Rosebud was everything we hoped for. The pictures don’t do it justice.. The location was perfect. Pool was such a treat and wonderful to have on those days you didn’t make it to the beach.. The owner was always available to ask questions or steer you in the right direction if needed. You can’t not go wrong with this house!

Christmas Stroll

Our family of 10 adults and one infant stayed at Rosebud for three nights during the Christmas Stroll. The house was incredibly clean, updated, and well stocked, and provided plenty of space for our family to enjoy time together and time apart. We loved having the guest cottage with its separate living space. The house itself was in the perfect location - close to town and the beach. We were able to jog to town each morning for coffee, and drove down to Madaket Beach for sunset. We highly recommend!

September bliss

We had a lovely time staying st Rosebud for a family wedding. The house allows for gatherings and also time alone. The guest house is an added bonus. We could not of been happier with our stay. Also the house is close enough to town and far enough away and close to beaches to really enjoy being away.

Great Weekend at Rosebud Nantucket

Our visit was with a large group, including three couples of friends, the parents of one couple, and three children. Most of use are experienced Nantucket visitors, so we are pretty picky about accommodations on the Island. Rosebud not only met, but exceeded our expectations. The privacy and quality of the bedrooms and baths are great and the layout of the main dining and kitchen area were very conducive to socializing for everyone. Michael was great in resondng to questions and communicating, and could not have been more professional and responsive. We recommend Rosebud very highly and wouldn't hesitate to return. Thanks again Michael. The Armanetti, Snow, and Wang families.

Great fall getaway

This is a beautiful house on Nantucket. We rented it with two other couples for a long weekend in October. Great location-very private but we could get into town in a few minutes. We loved the layout of the house-one couple stayed in the guest house and the other two in the main house. There is ample room for a group and plenty of bathrooms. Beautiful views and outdoor space too. The owners were responsive and generous-we look forward to coming back soon.

delightful in Dionis

perfectly special and functional home with scale and luxury. we had four perfect days in the beginning of October. we walked to Dionis beach when we needed a change of scenery (not often because the kids were thrilled with the pool). Host Michael was as responsive as anyone could ever be and made the trip totally seamless throughout. hope to come back!

Great Space and Location for a Big Family!

Our 10 person plus an infant family needed a lot of space for a long family wedding weekend. We booked Michael's house a year before the wedding because it fit everything we needed and Michael was extremely responsive and continued to be through our stay. There were plenty of beds to have 4 more adults staying too and more than enough areas inside both houses for everyone to find a little nook of their own! Even though it was the end of September we were excited to use the pool but it was closed and were not notified which was a bummer but we just explored the beach instead. There were two bikes on property which was a great surprise and made getting to town quicker for a supplies! All in all we would stay there again with our family and enjoyed Michael's hospitality and suggestions along the way!

We bought "Rosebud" in 2016 and have completely updated the property with new furniture and renovations throughout. We've been coming to Nantucket with our three children for a number of years and love this part of the island.

Why they chose this property

We wanted a place with a view, and this has it!
Walking distance to our favorite quiet beach, Dionis.
The home offers a lot of quiet privacy but is only a short drive into Town.
