Bishophill is an area of central York, it lies within the city walls and has been occupied since at least the Roman period. Today, the charming network of terraced streets strongly reflect the character of a Victorian suburb. Enclosed by the wall, this area is a tranquil haven with a very strong sense of identity. Bishopthorpe Road lies just south of the ancient walls of York, a short walk from Bishophill and Bar Wall Cottage. The independent shops, cafes and businesses that make up Bishopthorpe Road parade have been serving the community for over a hundred years. Those who know and love this quirky little corner of York refer to it affectionately as ‘Bishy Road’ for short.
The nearest car park is Nunnery Lane 24/7 car park and is located approximately 5 minute walk away and the railway station is approximately 15 minutes walk away.
It is easy to walk from the house to the centre of York, access the city walls or to the local Bishy Road area.
