Lovely stay. Super cottage and very clean and tidy. Beautiful fixtures and fittings. Appreciated the wood left for both fires. Would book again.
Info told us the cottage would be heated on arrival, but heating was off and we arrived at 530pm on a cold wet 4 degree day. Took a while to warm the rooms.

A wonderful cottage
We had a great stay. The property is in a fantastic location, ideally placed for exploring nearby villages and attractions in the Cotswolds. The cottage was more spacious than expected, comfortable, spotless, and well equipped for a relaxing stay. As an older property, it has plenty of charm and character.
The setting is peaceful and scenic, with lovely walks straight from the doorstep. There’s also a pleasant garden area with table and chairs, and the cottage was warm on arrival with good heating throughout.
A small point to note: while there are tea, coffee, and sugar containers in the kitchen, there was no tea provided and only a few sachets of coffee and sugar. There is also a coffee machine but no capsules supplied. Having these available on arrival would have been appreciated.
Thoughtful touches such as milk in the fridge, biscuits, washing up essentials, and fire provisions (logs, kindling, and firelighters) were very welcome. Parking was easy and convenient.
We had a wonderful stay! The most charming location close to all things to see and do. We would love to come back. Great for families :)

Nice place but poor value
Lovely cottage and well presented, but overpriced for what’s provided. Lacked basic amenities like tea, coffee, milk, soap, etc, which you’d expect at this price point.

Relaxing , well located
What a beautiful cottage , as soon as we arrived at Woodman cottage we felt entirely at home , everything you could possibly need, extremely well appointed with beautiful soft furnishings throughout. Two parking places situated just outside the property on a privately owned quintessential estate allowing peace and quiet without feeling isolated. The cottage is perfectly situated for easy access to most Cotswolds hotspots.
This is the second time I have booked accommodation through stay Cotswolds and each time I have been very impressed with the standard of property and their customer service, catering and support if ever needed . I will definitely be booking through them again .
Loved our stay at Woodman Cottage. It’s on a private estate surrounded by picturesque grounds with lots of opportunities for walking. The cottage is very comfortably furnished but it would benefit from providing things like body wash and a few basic supplies like cooking oil as international travellers are not carrying these items.

A Wonderful Stay At Woodman Cottage
This was such a beautiful cottage on such a lovely private estate. I am not new to the Cotswolds, I have been coming here since childhood.
I can honestly say that Woodman Cottage has been the best and most relaxing stay I have had since coming to the Cotswolds many years ago.
I will certainly be returning and highly recommend this wonderful cottage.

Family weekend in idyllic village.
We had the most beautiful stay at the Woodman Cottage with our 15-month-old boy. The village is absolutely stunning; it felt like we were in a movie. The team was so welcoming and helpful throughout our stay that we would highly recommend booking the cottage, although selfishly, we would like to keep it a secret for ourselves.
We will definitely stay again!

Lovely little cottage
We spent 4 nights in a lovely location staying in Woodman Cottage…. The cottage was comfortable
We were surprised there was not a microwave.
There seemed a lack of a gardener… weeds outside the door and sadly the garden too overgrown to sit in…. As the weather was very good we would have liked to use the garden but the area with garden chairs provided was not conducive to sit out…. A real pity as it could be a lovely garden for guests to sit in.

Beautiful Cottage, No Rain!
If you are looking for the English Countryside at its best this is it. Beautiful stylish cottage in an amazing spot. Very clean, well equipped and comfortable, plenty of space to relax. We were blessed with perfect weather. Kingham only 5 minutes away and Stow and Burford not that far either. Loads of lovely pubs to investigate in the area if you don't want to eat in. We will definitely be back

A perfect stay!
The cottage was as described, ‘ A typical Cotswolds Chocolate Box cottage’ in a great peaceful location. Warm, well equipped and just lovely. The living space was comfortable and characterful. Perhaps a Bluetooth speaker in the snug would be a useful addition, as this is a great room to relax in after a days walking. As walkers we new the area well but again some walking maps etc would be helpful for visitors. Thank you for a lovely stay, we walked, cooked( well equipped kitchen) went out to eat in kingham and spent a day out on the train in Oxford. We will be back. A great week, thank you.

Very beautiful cottage
Very beautiful cottage in a gorgeous estate. We didn’t have a car which is indispensable, because in the village there is no pub or shop. We did a lot by foot (good workout), and taxi and bus. The cottage had everything you need. It was clean, but there was a lot of dust on the pending lamps and in the corners. However we understand that a cottage is difficult to clean in the little corners. Maybe it is good to receive guests when they arrive, to explain the working. We called the household, and they sent someone over to explain the heating and lamps. We asked him for some wood, but we didn’t receive. The beds were great, very comfortable (no back ache ) and the bed linen was soft. The decoration is done with a lot of good taste! To resume : I would return to Woodman Cottage ☺️.

It could have been really good but .......
The cottage is in a lovely small hamlet and even in February the location is pretty. Arrival is not allowed before 5pm, which is rather later than normal. We arrived on a cold damp February evening at the allotted time. The heating had been turned right down, no lights were on and the whole place felt unloved and unwelcoming. Not a good first impression. Sadly things didn't improve. A small bottle of milk had been left but no tea bags (fortunately we had taken some) and no other basics including salt and pepper! The furnishings are reasonably comfortable but very dark, mainly brown and green, lighting is poor in most rooms. The combination makes the atmosphere very gloomy. The best room is the main bedroom which was very comfortable and in contrast to the rest of the property, in cream - shame there wasn't more of this. There were two wardrobes in this room which we didn't use as they smelt musty. There is an open fire in one room with a formidable chain spark guard (not sure it would have let much heat out!). In the smaller sitting area there is a log burner. It is very hard to light and gives very little heat output. We have a log burner so know how to light them and what to expect. We ran out of logs in just two nights and when we asked for more (the property details say they are available on request) for which we were happy to pay, we were told we had to buy them from the co-op in Chipping Norton. We didn't bother. All in all we concluded this could have been a delightful cottage but it needs a different and more professional approach. As it stands it needs improvement.

Relax at Woodman
We really enjoyed our stay at Woodman Cottage. The cottage was beautifully presented, lovely comfy beds with beautiful bedding. The locality was in an idyllic situation with walks on your doorstep and pretty villages and towns quite close by. It was great for a well earned rest to spend with friends.
The facilities were very good and tasteful equipment. We did feel that in order to use the dishwasher or have a self cooked meal there did need to be more crockery and cooking utensils, that would be our only comment.
I felt the whole process was very simple and all parties were very communicative when needed. We will definitely use again and would love to stay at this cottage.

Excellent cottage, which is not in absolutely best condition anymore.
We’ve had a wonderful stay at the Woodman Cottage. It’s a beautiful old cottage, which is very tastefully decorated. All the details are right. Still, one could see its heavily used. Not all as clean as we hoped for (example: mattresses were quite dirty), and some maintenance is due. When we arrived we had a clogged drain, making it impossible to be used. Luckily, this was almost instantly fixed for us.
The private village is great, making it a super quite and charming place in the Cotswolds. The ‘rules’ of the village are a bit too strict though: the expectation is that guests strictly keep themselves to the premises of the cottage (incl. playground). We were told we were not meant to use the tennis field (I played a ball with my 8 and 10 year old boys, on the very, very old field, which was entirely abandoned, still we were forced to leave), as well as some of the paths in the village. Quite confusing, and - more importantly - not very hospitable.
All in all a good stay, lovely house and certainly things that could be improved!

Great first impressions, sadly a few issues.
Woodman cottage was finished to a high standard. Lovely decor, lighting, floor covering, however a few areas in the property needed attention.
Downstairs shower room had a leak in the ceiling during a very heavy down pour. Resulted in there being a puddle around the toilet.
The kitchen needed a deep clean. Several of the drinking glasses were filthy on our arrival and the glass fronted cabinet they were housed in was dirty.
Dust around the wood work on the bench at the dining table and we even had what appeared to be the previous residents hard skin from their feet on the upholstered coffee table in the lounge! Really not a great look!
The maintenance man who came to check on the boiler was really lovely.
Gardeners arrived at 7:50am on the day we checked out. The female Gardner was very chatty to her colleague and could be heard talking around the whole village, although she chose to ignore us as we were going in and out of the cottage with our belongings.
Would have been much better if the garden was tended to after we checked out at 10am.
Also check in at 5pm with a 10am check out is a bit of an ask, especially if the cottage wasn’t even that clean.
The hamlet is lovely though and we had great fun exploring all of the beautiful Cotswold villages. So much to see and do in the area.
