A little about your host, Kelvin.
I was born and raised in Barbados to age 10 /11, when in 1971 I was whisked away on a very slow BOAC Trident Jet which took 13 long hours, to join our mother in Chiswick West London England. Soon after arrival we moved from Chiswick to Feltham Middlesex, where I attended secondary school.
My first employment after leaving school was as a 5-year Apprentice Trainee Electronic Wireman, and this included attendance at Kingston College of Further education where I sat and passed two papers gaining two City & Guilds of London Institute Certificates for my efforts, passed with Distinctions.
At 21, I had a change of direction and went into retailing with one of the UK's largest high street retailers. After eight months, I was invited onto the company’s Trainee Management Program, which included a short course of professional training in the phycology behind managing people.
Thirteen years later, my quest for knowledge and the buzz of a challenge took me into the more difficult art of Direct Salesmanship.
I became a father at 27 to the best son a father could wish for, and during an incredibly happy marriage I sadly became a widower at 48. Nearly 17 yrs on from that dreadful event, I am now a grandfather to two gorgeous little girls.
I have a love for all the creative arts and architecture and an interest in worldwide events. My lasting quest to learn new things and about people, took me travelling throughout the lengths and breath of the UK & Ireland, Western Europe incl Spain, France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands [the Streets of Amsterdam a few times], Greece, Malta, the Americas [New York, Florida / Caribbean - Haiti, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Cozumel for a taste of Mexico, and Dubai for an introduction to the Middle-East, before returning to Barbados, which has always remained home, eight years ago.
Growing up and having a diversity of friends much wider than my limited travels, with different religious and cultural backgrounds, in addition to my travels from an early age, means that I have a very easy-going mindset, which is open to differences. My philosophy to life is, 'laughter at every opportunity, never take yourself, life or anything too seriously'. This is borne out through my long-suffering irrational love for a football club called; "Queens Park Rangers FC", but as I am one who like to see others doing well, and a closet glory hunter, I also support whichever team is at the top of their game and winning. I have a serious, focused, determined, and relentless work ethic that has always blinded me from playing as hard as I work; however, I do also enjoy kicking back with a rum/beer or five, and great stimulating conversation with good people.
The Neighbourhood:
The property sits on a terrace approx. 250ft above sea level, hence the title, "Breezy Vista on the Terrace", and stretches out from east to west, which means there is the benefit of a constant sea breezy to the occupants. The combine areas of Water Hall, St Silas, Deanes, Apes Hill & Westmoreland are classified as, "middle to upper income neighbourhoods", and retain some of the old-fashion ideals such as looking out for and ensuring the wellbeing of each other, which means our guess are assured of a comforting welcome, securities and pleasantries, as is typically synonymous with such neighbourhoods.
We welcome you to enjoy a stay at; Breezy Vista on the Terrace

Kelvin is a welcoming host and Breezy Vista is an economical spot to use as a base to travel the island. The apartment was spacious and clean and the outdoor patio was lovely in the evening. We found the mattress a little soft, though many may enjoy that. The AC was powerful, but barely needed with the cool evening winds. Kelvin was communicative and helpful.

Eleanor, Thank you so much for the kind words in your review and we are so sorry you found the bed too soft. We are into our third year hosting with 35 odd reviews in total from many stays, but it is not until people highlight these things that we can pay attention - so thank you! When the majority of our guests leaves us, they are mostly off to the airport, therefore our cleaning team discard of any open grocery packaging left in the fridge or apartment. We are extremely sorry that by the time you had called us, they were well on the way of resetting for the next guest, hence my apologies .. On a positive note; we have managed to replace the broken candle holder with an alternate set, so all is well there. We didn't realize the curtain could blow back that far. Eleanor, we thank you for choosing Breezy Vista for part of your stay on the West Coast of Barbados. It was very much appreciated, and again we thank you for your kind review. Kelvin..
We wanted to stay on the northend but all the hotels and B&Bs were out of our budget. That was until we found Kelvin’s clean, safe and super cute home. It was just as described and the photos were correct. We went to a great dinner at the Fish Pot not too far away. Then relaxed watching Netflix on his smart tv the rest of the night. The next morning my husband found a great secret surfing spot! We will be back for sure. Thank you!

I'm so thankful that Cindy & Karl found & choose my place 'Breezy Vista on the Terrace', because they also happened to be host, but on a very much larger scale, they were so kind, thoughtful and respectful, using only what they needed for a night's stay. Their thoughtfulness has made me want to visit their place so i could learn more from them. My only regret is that they didnt leave me details, otherwise I would've linked them in here ... Thank you Cindy & Karl for the reviews and for being such wonderful human beings & guest.
We arrived at the property in the late evening and were met by a very welcoming owner who invited myself and daughter into our chosen accommodation. Nothing can prepare you for the magnificent view we encountered on our first morning !!!! Everything you need is catered for (basically it was home from home) The area is very safe The property is extremely cool with all around fresh breezes keeping temperatures comfortable. Please don’t have any doubts staying here (Kelvin the owner) is extremely helpful and does everything to make your stay comfortable without intruding on your privacy. We will definitely book this little gem again If you are looking for a peaceful holiday with easy access to the west of the island then a stay here is highly recommended Thank you Kelvin you did yourself proud

Thank you so so much for reviewing your stay at Breezy Vista so eloquently and favorably. It is so much appreciated. Yourself and Debbie are by far the most kind and generous people I've had the pleasure to meet in over 60 [combined] stays, and your easy going vibe and attitude to life should be bottled and set as examples ...
It was an amazing testament to your characters that on the last day of your vacation, you were determined to spend a large part of it cleaning, because you wanted to leave the apartment just as you found it. That has stuck with me.. But from the gifted present of those scrumptious biscuits 😆 you gifted on your first full day, to all that food your gifted on your last day, the books, travel adapter sockets, the unmaking of the bed and used towels you folded neatly and left for the laundry, the waiting for the mopped floor to dry. Elizabeth & Debbie, it ALL means that I will never forget you both, and you are most welcome to stay again ...😊. I just cannot thank you enough - you are just amazing people. Thanks ...
About the host
Hosted by Kelvin Clarke
I was born and raised in Barbados UpTo the age of 10/11 but then emigrated to London England where I completed my formal education, started my first job, partied hard, settled down and got married, fathered my son at 27, started two successful businesses became a widower at 48 and spent the majority of my life, before returning to Barbados 9 yrs before retirement, and that was 8 years ago.
My character is one that is empathic, I'm a great listener and have always appreciated the fact that I have one mouth and two ears for a reason. I'm easy-going, love to laugh even at myself. I've learnt not to take life too seriously. I can be laid back to the point of often falling over, but at the same extent in work mode there is no one that can out work me. I'm left side orientated, which helps with the fact that I'm creative and love all and anything that have a creative element, which means I love photography, architecture, 90% of the arts, nature etc...
Why they chose this property
Arriving in the UK at nearly 11, by 21, although I love the experience of all that was new and different, it was at that time I made the decision I would settled back in Barbados, So for the last 20 years in the UK I would travel back at least once a year and my preference was the South Coast. However, out of 10 properties I had seclected to view for my home, it was this one with the [Breezy Vista] on the West Coast that I fell in love with. I wanted a project, on a fair size lot of land, with the potential to create a separate accomodation for my son, family & many friends who saw the opportunity to visit me often. It was also the terraced views that caught my attention, the neighborhood itself, the convenient to everything I would need to live, and I loved the abundance of nature /trees and the cleanliness of the air I would breathe. But it was later getting to know my like-minded neighbours that was the bonus.
What makes this property unique
Our guest [from other platforms] tell us they love our position high up on the terrace which is conducive to the constant east to west sea breeze that flows through the apartment and the spectacular sea views on a clear hot day. They love the Caribbean colours of the fully equipped kitchen and the other facilities which is helpful to a great stay. They love that we are highly rated for our cleanliness and 10/10 ratings for our hosting. They love the convenience of being on the West Coast of Barbados without being right in constant hustle and bustle - which is the best of both worlds. They love the options of a work or play environment and the free WiFi and no hassle free parking. But overall we think they love our very reasonable rates for a well-sort-after stay on the West Coast of Barbados ..
