Karen was very friendly and helpful, met us on arrival and immediately made us feel at home. There was a lovely welcome pack to help get us started. Brilliant location, comfortable beds and very clean property with loads of outside space or our dog. If in the area again would definitely book this property.

Karen and Martin were excellent hosts who went out of their way to make sure we had a pleasant stay at their lodge. The lodge was spotlessly clean, spacious and equipped with everything we would need, including a welcome package containing essentials for the first day. We recommend this property to anyone who likes a quiet place in this beautiful part of East Anglia.

We had a lovely weekend at The Lodge.
We had a lovely weekend at The Lodge.Gorgeous welcome hamper with home made produce ( the chilli jam was especially delicious). The Lodge was well equipped with everything we needed, washing pods and dishwasher tablets included! The washing machine was very handy. It was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. The outside space is huge and our grandson and dog enjoyed running around. It’s very quiet and great for a relaxing break. The hosts were lovely and we would definitely go back. There are plenty of places to visit locally but we were happy to sit in the garden and enjoy the sunshine and walk our dog.

We had a wonderful few days at The Lodge which is in a great location, secluded in the countryside and yet so near to the lovely villages of Thaxted and Saffron Walden. The lodge has been beautifully and tastefully decorated with thought being given to both comfort and practicality. Everything we could possibly have wanted was provided. Our hosts Karen and Martin were excellent, friendly and helpful, communicating in advance of our arrival and ensuring we had everything we needed. The welcome pack provided was a real treat too including some delicious home made produce, some treats and some essentials. We had a wonderful stay and would love to visit again some time.
