Disliked: Cleanliness, communication, location, listing accuracy
We arrived at the property to find that we had to try and find the owner to let us in. Nothing was obvious and no instructions were given. The property was a disappointment, the bathroom really needed a makeover. The grouting was dirty and cracked there were dead flies on the floor. The bed upstairs that I assumed would be made up for us wasn’t. The duvets were stained. The small downstairs bedroom was made up for us as 2 single beds. It just felt a bit lazy. We unpacked intending to make the most of the accommodation but feeling let down. We decided to have a walk around the property and sadly came across 3 cows that had open wounds. They were huddled together in a small enclosure. Being an animal lover this really upset me. We decided we could no longer stay and contacted Vrbo. They tried to contact the farmer via phone and email to no avail so we left. Vrbo wanted us to stay on site whilst they sorted the situation but we simply couldn’t. It was supposed to be a holiday and we were dreading going to bed and I couldn’t stop thinking about the animals. The farmer refused to give us any compensation and so we paid for a week and didn’t stay one night. We were hugely disappointed and out of pocket. It ruined our start of the holiday.

Unser Aufenthalt auf der Geesteren Farm war einfach traumhaft. Die Lage ist unglaublich ruhig, umgeben von üppigen Gärten und malerischen Ausblicken. Wir verbrachten unsere Tage mit Wanderungen in den nahegelegenen Wäldern und Picknicks am See. Die Küche war bestens ausgestattet, sodass wir problemlos Mahlzeiten zubereiten konnten, und wir genossen es sehr, mit einer Tasse Kaffee auf der Terrasse zu entspannen. Die Gastgeber waren sehr herzlich, und wir fühlten uns wie zu Hause. Absolut empfehlenswert für alle, die Erholung suchen!
