About the host
Hosted by Pat & Jeri Kennedy
We live in Tampa Florida with our teenage daughter. We also have two adult kids in college. In 2004, our family rented a cabin in Waynesville and we all fell in love with the North Carolina mountains! In 2014, we bought the property and began designing the cabin. In March of 2016, we broke ground and opened for business in December of 2016.
The cabin was Pat's childhood dream. Ironically, years ago, Pat's sister bought them "The Kennedy Hideaway" sign, which hangs next to the front door of the cabin. We had no idea that would eventually become the name of our business.
Jeri teaches special needs kids in high school and is the volleyball coach. Pat retired from a career in law enforcement and now coaches high school golf and boy's basketball.

The views are spectacular and the rushing water from the stream provides such a soothing experience while you enjoy the rockers on the porch by day and amazing white noise while you sleep at night. Whether you're looking to hike, enjoy beautiful waterfalls, explore the Smokey Mountain National Park, drive the Blue Ridge Parkway, ski or go tubing, white water rafting, ziplining, gambling in Cherokee, the Biltmore in Asheville, enjoying great restaurants, or shoping in Waynesville or Maggie Valley, you're never far from the cabin.
