About this property

ARC Peaks

Welcome to ARC Peaks, a restored historic property, secluded in the dreamy valleys of the Peak District, sleeping 30, with wood-fired hot tubs, indoor pools and pizza ovens

Wildboarclough, named with a nod to America's rich hunting history, is an idyllic village situated in the green folds of land of the Peak District. A National Park, renowned for its dense forest, open plains and rugged dales, this area is where you'll find wild trout leaping from the River Dane, where ancient folklore abounds and the wind whistles your name. It's also where you'll find our ARC.

The Old Post Office has remained a feature in this dramatic landscape for approximately two-hundred years. Formerly a printworks, the edifice has been restored by PARTI architects to retain its original heritage features, and contemporary extensions have been added, using Japanese techniques to reinforce the structure. Through the Yakisugi art form, the wooden skeleton of the property is charred until black to enhance durability. Notably, this is the first case (to our knowledge) of Yakisugi's structural use in Europe.

Beyond finding your flow in the indoor pool or yoga studio, at ARC Peaks you'll discover luxury facilities geared towards an elevated experience of outdoor living, including alfresco kitchens, premium pizza ovens, wood-fired hot tubs and a South African style Braai. The River Dane ripples around three sides of the property, creating a watery lull as it rushes by, infusing your dreams with the sound of water, further blurring the parameters of internal domesticity and external wilderness. Sculpted from reclaimed stone that was excavated on-site, a majestic table extends towards a flowering orchard and serves as a visual focal point in the grounds, inviting guests to gather round, share stories and wine under the heat of the sun or the light of the moon.

Conviviality is at our core. ARC Peaks is meticulously designed and optimised for large congregations of people who wish to stay together, sleep together, eat together, retreat together. With 10 en suite super-king bedrooms and a charmingly renovated attic containing 10 curtained alcoves, the property can accommodate 30 people in comfort and style, lending itself very well to corporate away-days, co-working retreats, friendly celebrations or larger family affairs.

What an amazing stay in such a beautiful property and location.

The house is next level and thank you so much to the ARC team for organising the chefs and completely spoiling us! Can’t wait to return.

We recently stayed at ARC and had a wonderful time.

The facilities in the house are incredible, particularly the pool/outdoor hot tub, and the beautiful meals provided by the chef allowed us to relax and fully enjoy the weekend, with plenty of walks and stunning scenery right on the doorstep.

I recently stayed and had a fabulous time.

The house seems enormous and imposing from the outside, but immediately you enter it welcomes you with warmth, cosy spaces, extravagant facilities & surprises you with its art and sculpture collections . We all loved it! And will definitely return…

We had the most wonderful stay at arc peaks.

The place is beautiful and as well as the surrounding landscape. From an architect the attention to detailing in the property was outstanding! The place was perfect for a lazy day incoming back too after a long walk, we throughly enjoyed our stay and are already planning our next trip! Thank you arc!

We recently stayed at ARC Peaks for a birthday celebration, and it was truly unforgettable.

The stunning location among the peaks, offered a serene and picturesque setting, perfect for our special occasion. The accommodations were luxurious, spacious, and beautifully maintained, with every detail thoughtfully curated. Each bedroom had an en-suite meaning everyone had a nice room! The private chef-cooked meal for 20 people in the dining hall was a highlight. We also loved the fantastic pool and hot tub, which were perfect for relaxing, and the proximity to excellent local walking trails added to the experience. Will defo stay again!

Wow.

Just stayed for a long weekend. The house was stunning, the chefs concoctions were to die for and the indoor pool was so relaxing after some of the most scenic, and challenging, walks. The price per head, compared to a hotel, was great value and we’re booked to go back in January to exercise off some of the weight I’ll put on over Christmas. My only criticism from the first visit was not staying for longer!

Amazing house, gorgeous setting, high quality amenities

As a large group (27 women) celebrating my 50th birthday, we were all so happy with the accommodation, the facilities, space and the high quality finish of this property. Was really special

A great quiet location for a large gathering

The large list of facilities are great and the local support was excellent . Very comfortable beds. The local area is great for walking and exploring with interesting towns a short drive away. Some of the equipment was not working. Some of the detail of what was available on site from salt, pepper and a cafetiere to electric car chargers was not clear. There are a lot of shiny surfaces which makes sound tricky with large groups.

A great place to meet with friends who have children

Rooms were all similar standard - so no fights for the best! I booked this through Tom and Kate's website and received conflicting information from them and from finestretreats. This was particularly infuriating over check out times. This needs addressing.
