Detached house in the heart of the historic center of Cisternino, perfect for a couple's vacation.



The apartment, spread over several levels. From the entrance, through a stone staircase, you enter the living area furnished with an open-plan kitchen, a sofa, a dining table and a TV. Going up to the second floor you reach the sleeping area where there is a queen-size bed and an ensuite bathroom with shower and whirlpool tub. On the top floor is an outdoor space with views of the city's rooftops.

Cisternino is one of the most beautiful italian hamlets, in Valle d’Itria. The most valuable sites are the historic centre with the norman-german Tower and the Church of San Nicola, the so called “Chiesa Madre”, the rural area and its ancient “trulli” all around. Architecture, culture, social identity and food are all traits of this town, in particular the white houses, alleys, yards and the typical roasted “bombette” and wine. This makes Cisternino a place where time seems to stand still, together with its old traditions.

Our guests can easily discover the amazing places of our countryside from Cisternino: Ceglie Messapica, historic town with a strong food and wine tradition, Ostuni, the famous Pearl of Valle d’Itria and Alberobello, famous for its ancient dwellings “trulli”, world heritage since 1996.

25 kms north our guests can visit the Archeological Site of Egnazia, Polignano a Mare and Monopoli, old fishermen villages with evocative old towns and enchanting beaches. Going further north, guests can find Bari, Eastern threshold, meanwhile towards south there is the Marine protected area of Torre Guaceto, Brindisi and Lecce, capital of Barocco. Taranto, the heart of Magna Grecia (ancient Greece) is located west, and then guests can find Matera, particularly known for its “Sassi” (ancient cave dwellings) and nominated European capital of culture for 2019.



Bari-Karol Wojtyla International Airport is a 50-minute drive, while Bari Airport is 90 km away.

This was a very beautiful and authentic apartment in the historic center. The stairs were very steep and narrow with low overhead clearance. The first and second floors were without any outlook out the window. The roof deck on the 3rd floor (entrance door on floor zero) was without any table or chairs maybe due to not being summer yet, and two staircases removed from the kitchen. The apartment manager was online only and despite moisture issues (vent window in ceiling in bathroom condensation dripped on floor) making drying towels difficult only one set of towels was provided for 7 night stay. Also one roll of toilet paper only for a 7 night stay for two people. Room tax has to be paid separately. No welcome amenities were provided, amenities are normally provided when a owner/person is the host and not a large company. If you are looking for an authentic Pugliese of old beautiful stonework and antique furniture experience and don’t mind no outlooks, hot water that works sometimes and are good at ducking your head when entering the stairs then you will likely enjoy this apartment a lot. It really comes down to what you are looking for. For me next time, I think we will look for something outside the centro with a view of the beautiful Valle d’Itria to enjoy with our breakfast of food from the wonderful Panificio and fresh cheese shops in Cisternino. Ciao.
Two garbage pails of wrong type to put outside, at least three are required with secure lids, so we just took our garbage with us.

Alles war sauber, der Whirlpool sehr gepflegt und auch toll zum Benutzen. Auch die Dachterrasse mit Blick über die Dächer hat uns den Aufenthalt versüßt. Die Küche war gut ausgestattet. Es gibt zwei Etagen, beide sind per Treppen erreichbar.Gelegen war die Unterkunft mittendrin in der weißen Altstadt von Cisternino. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt.
